With a different kind of release strategy adopted, Sitaare Zameen Par saw good turnaround especially in the evening and night shows and ended up scoring a double digit opening. Pre-release, the film was trending at Rs. 8-10 crores range. However, there was some push in advance booking during Thursday and that ensured a Rs. 10 crores+ opening day.

The strategy to not release the movie in the morning shows had multiple advantages. First and foremost, unless it’s an event film, the biggest of movies struggle to attract more than 10% occupancy in the morning shows. Hence from revenue perspective it was going to be hardly any loss for Sitaare Zameen Par if it foregoes the morning shows. Secondly, any movie - whether commercial or niche - is best enjoyed when watched in at least a reasonably packed theatre. The experience nosedives when there are 10-20 people in the auditorium. Thirdly, this also meant that those who had to watch the movie gathered in the evening and night shows instead, which means the experience of community viewing was enhanced. Fourthly, and very importantly, if at all there was any negative word of mouth (be it genuine or through trolls) was contained as by the time the social media spreading could happen, neutral audiences had already made up their mind. Lastly, and very importantly, this one is anyways a family movie for the multiplexes, and that crowd gathers only from evening shows onwards, and hence Aamir Khan was not going to lose any audience by not playing morning shows on the first day.

As a result, Rs. 10.70 crores that have been collected on Friday have given the base to this RS Prasanna directed film to now elevate big time. Trending so far indicates that the jump would be huge today and it won’t be surprising if Rs. 18-20 crores comes in. That will take care of the shortfall evidenced on Friday and will take the film to the path of success.

The Aamir Khan social comedy, Sitaare Zameen Par, has taken a decent start at the box office in India. According to early estimates, Sitaare Zameen Par has collected in the range of Rs. 10 crores to Rs. 11 crores on the opening day, faring better than the expected projections of Rs. 8 crores. The Aamir Khan film has been received well, and the start gives it a platform to perform well over the weekend.

Sitaare Zameen Par has fared the best in multiplexes, as the national chains are contributing 65 percent to the total business. The film has set up well for a surge on Saturday, as the advance trends are already reflecting for the same. Sitaare Zameen Par is a risky film in modern world, as it is devoid of the conventionally commercial elements, and riding on the shoulders of just one man and that is Aamir Khan. The start is reasonable, with business growing well towards the evening and night shows.

From a trade perspective, Sitaare Zameen Par is not a conventional Friday release chasing front-loaded numbers. With a niche subject focused on ten neurodivergent children and minimal commercial trappings, the Rs. 10.50 cr. opening is not just respectable - it’s encouraging. The real test begins now, as the film is built to grow with strong word of mouth and emotional connect. Theatres are the only platform for this Aamir Khan starrer - a bold move in today’s OTT-driven landscape. The focus now shifts to Saturday and Sunday, where the film is expected to show an upward trend and find its audience the old-school way - through love for cinema.

Housefull 5 did well in its second week as over Rs. 40 crores came in. The first week had seen Rs. 133.58 crores been accumulated and now in the second week the film has managed to bring in the kind of numbers that not just take it past the safety mark but then adds some bonus numbers as well.

Today, the shows for the film have been reduced in a major way due to arrival of Sitaare Zameen Par. Still, several prime shows are available which means those who want to watch the film would have an option available.

As long as Rs. 2-2.50 crores come in today, there would be a good possibility of good jumps tomorrow and day, after which it will keep the pace on for an entry into the Rs. 200 Crore Club in the fourth weekend, if not by close of third week itself.

Aamir Khan is all set to make his big-screen return after three years with Sitaare Zameen Par, the spiritual sequel to his beloved 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. Releasing on around 3,500 screens across India, the film has opted for a limited showcasing strategy with a more curated screen-to-screen presence, aligning with its emotional and family-driven narrative.

Advance booking opened on Wednesday, and by Thursday 3 PM, the film had sold approximately 25,000 tickets across the top three national multiplex chains. While the numbers are modest, the industry is hopeful that Sitaare Zameen Par will follow a trend seen with several content-driven films in recent times - slower advance momentum but strong pick-up through positive word-of-mouth.

Given Aamir Khan's three-year hiatus and the film's socially relevant subject, trade expected a stronger start. However, Sitaare Zameen Par is not built like a typical massy opener. Its strength lies in its storytelling, emotional connect, and the goodwill Aamir carries with family audiences, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where bookings are expected to pick up with spot and walk-in sales.

Though the film is likely to start under the Rs. 10 crore mark on Friday, there is growing optimism within the trade that it could witness a significant jump over the weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday as audience reactions begin to pour in. Aamir’s previous films like Taare Zameen Par and Dangal also grew significantly due to strong word-of-mouth, and Sitaare Zameen Par could very well follow the same trajectory.

With emotional drama largely absent from mainstream Bollywood in recent years, Sitaare Zameen Par fills a unique gap and could emerge as a slow-burn success. All eyes are now on how the film performs once word-of-mouth kicks in - and there’s cautious but growing belief that it may surpass initial expectations.

After growing well on Blockbuster Tuesday with Rs. 4.40 crores* coming in, Housefull 5 stabilised on Wednesday with collections topping the Rs. 3 crores* mark. That was the need of the hour as well since on Monday the film had collected Rs. 3.80 crores* so something closer to that would have been a good weekday hold. That’s what happened as well, what with Rs. 3.20 crores* coming in.

This is where discounted ticket price on Tuesday helped the film as well because it has almost averaged out collections well and ensured that Thursday too will close in the whereabouts of Rs. 3 crores mark. It may be Rs. 10-20 lakhs lesser at most but still would do enough to ensure that the overall week comes out to be well. From here on, what would be seen quite closely is how does Friday turn out to be since shows would be reduced due to arrival of Sitaare Zameen Par. That said, all that the film needs is one dedicated screen at least per multiplex with 6-7 shows a day and that will keep the footfalls trickling in.

So far, the film has netted Rs. 174.09 crores and while the second weekend would close in the whereabouts of Rs. 177 crores, it has to be seen whether Rs. 190 crores mark would be hit by the time the third weekend ends. That would be the ideal number that the film would be aiming at, so that it can enter the Rs. 200 Crore Club by the close of third week.

It was Blockbuster Tuesday offer yesterday and Housefull 5 rightfully took it to keep the pace going for itself. On Monday, the film had collected Rs. 3.80 crores* and on Tuesday there was good growth seen, what with Rs. 4.40 crores* coming in. That’s good because anything in Rs. 4-4.25 crores range would have been fine too and here there are those extra lakhs which have come in.

The film has been defying the negativity around it and collecting consistently now, which is nice. Of course, had the film got into a zone where Rs. 225-250 crores lifetime would have come in, then that would have been fantastic as it would be have been a good increase over Housefull 4, which had netted around Rs. 200 crores. Here, Housefull 5 will stretch its way towards the Rs. 200 crores mark and while that’s fine given the manner in which films have been struggling to get even face saving numbers, a much bigger score would have eradicated all the noise around it.

Nonetheless, what matters is that Bollywood has yet another earner in the last couple of months which have at least seen theatrical audiences coming back. Currently standing at Rs. 170.89 crores*, the Akshay Kumar led comedy will cross Rs. 200 crores in its third week and then add some more in time to come as well to emerge as a decent success.

3 years after the release of Laal Singh Chaddha,  Aamir Khan is returning with Sitaare Zameen Par. This is a really long wait when it comes to a film coming from a top superstar and one certainly expects the gap to be shorter. After all, even though Laal Singh Chaddha was a commercial as well as critical disaster, Aamir Khan had set the record for the biggest opening ever for a Bollywood film with Thugs Of Hindostan. Even though that film too failed eventually, a start of over Rs. 50 crores was unheard for and that did boil down to the superstardom that Aamir Khan boasts of.

Nonetheless, when it comes to Sitaare Zameen Par, it’s more of Aamir Khan, the actor, and not Aamir Khan, the superstar, who is coming on screen. The trailer of the film was good, though just like Taare Zameen Par it aims for the class audience. This means one doesn’t expect an all-around bumper opening for the film but instead something that just about sets the base and then lets word of mouth take over. In fact, earlier when a compact release of around 1000 odd screens was planned then it looked reasonable due to the subject. However the plans have changed now, and the film is going much wider with 3000+ screens.

This also means that even though occupancy would be a challenge for most part of the day till word-of-mouth kicks in (and hopefully positive) for evening and night shows, even limited footfalls per show per auditorium will ensure that the first day collections are at least reasonable. Though advance booking will give an indication of where the film eventually heads for, as of now an opening of Rs. 8-10 crores seem on the cards. Of course, word of mouth can take it much higher, but this is the minimal range in which this RS Prasanna directed film should operate on Friday.

It was yet another double digit score for Housefull 5 on Sunday as Rs. 12.30 crores came in. The film had earlier done that on Saturday as well and an expected growth on Sunday ensured that the film not just crossed the Rs. 10 crores mark but also added a bit more.

As a result, the film now stands at Rs. 162.69 crores and in the process it’s now Akshay Kumar’s sixth highest grosser ever, what with Kesari (Rs. 154.42 crores) lifetime being surpassed. The Top-5 grossing films of the actor are Housefull 4, Good Newwz, Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi and 2.0 (Hindi). The next target would be to cross Rs. 189 crores lifetime of 2.0 (Hindi) and that should happen in the third week.

As for Sajid Nadiadwala, the film has now crossed the lifetime collections of Chhichhore (Rs. 153.09 crores) and Super 30 (Rs. 146.94 crores), while Baaghi 2 (Rs. 164.38 crores) would be surpassed today. His highest grosser ever will stay on to be Kick (Rs. 232 crores) and one waits to see how close does Housefull 5 come to lifetime numbers of Housefull 4 (Rs. 208.50 crores) which is his second biggest ever.

For Housefull 5 to keep its pace intact for Rs. 200 crores lifetime, it was pretty much required that on Saturday it not just grows well but also score a double digit number (or at least come really close to that). Well, this is what happened as after bringing in Rs. 6.60 crores on Friday, the film jumped by more than 50% on Saturday. As a result, Rs. 10.21 crores came in.

The film could have possibly collected a bit more as well as it had seemed that there was zero competition around it. Well, though from Bollywood there was no new release, there was some unexpected diversion with three Hollywood films belonging to different genres arriving together. As a result, at least Rs. 1-2 crores lesser numbers came in for the “killer comedy”.

Nonetheless, the film stays on to be the highest collecting film by a distance and stays on to be the first choice of cinegoers, especially when it comes to the mass centres. The film has done well enough to now touch Rs. 150.39 crores mark and today it will not just go past the Rs. 160 crores mark but also add a couple of crores more. While the lifetime collections of Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 (Rs. 150.17 crores) has already been surpassed, today it will also cross Kesari (Rs. 154.42 crores). Meanwhile, by tomorrow the film will also cross Rs. 164.38 crores lifetime number of Sajid Nadiadwala’s blockbuster success Baaghi 2.

It was a good first week for Housefull 5 as Rs. 133 crores* came in. The film opened quite well, went on to grow over the weekend, had a stable Monday and post that had decent numbers coming in with expected daily drops. Yes, had the collections stayed in double digits right through, then it would have been excellent. Still, for the seventh day to end up collecting Rs. 7 crores* is decent enough as well and now there should be stable second Friday.

One can expect more than Rs. 7 crores to come today and then the film will be back in double digits tomorrow and day after tomorrow. While Rs. 40-45 crores is bound to come in the second week, the closer the film is to the Rs. 50 crores mark, the better it would be for the overall lifetime of Housefull 5, which continues to stay in contention for an entry into the Rs. 200 Crore Club.

Meanwhile, the killer comedy has already entered Akshay Kumar’s Top-10 highest grossers ever as it has gone past the lifetime numbers of Rowdy Rathore (Rs. 133 crores). The ultimate aim would be for the Sajid Nadiadwala production to emerge as the actor’s biggest grosser ever once it goes past Housefull 4 lifetime of Rs. 208.50 crores. What happens in this weekend would be the key for that milestone to be achieved.

Housefull 5 stayed good on Wednesday as Rs. 9.40 crores came in. It was a regular weekday for the film as there was no post Eid effect or discounted ticket rates coming into picture. What the film needed was to stay as close to double digit numbers as possible and while Rs. 10 crores would have been even better, what it gathered was good enough as well since there wasn’t any major drop evidenced.

Today, the film may see a bit of a drop as well since the week is coming to a close but then from tomorrow onwards there would be a rise in numbers again. As long as second Friday is close to today, the film would be on the right trajectory and by the look of things that would be possible as well since there is no new release either, be it from Bollywood, Hollywood or south. Over the weekend, the film will see a big push in collections due to family audiences getting back to theatres in good numbers, and that will take it closer towards the Rs. 200 crores mark.

So far, the film has collected Rs. 126.08 crores and by the close of week it would have gone by the lifetime collections of Rowdy Rathore (Rs. 133 crores), hence getting into Akshay Kumar’s Top-10 highest grossers ever. By the close of second week, the film would be amongst his Top-5 biggest grossers ever as it would have gone past 2.0 [Hindi] lifetime (Rs. 189 crores).

It was a double digit Tuesday for Housefull 5 as Rs. 11.70 crores came in. The first weekend for the film was quite good and then Monday held on well as well with Rs. 13.15 crores coming in. The key for the film was to stay stable on Tuesday as well with at least a double digit score coming in and that ended up happening indeed.

There was reduced ticket pricing at some centres on Tuesday, but that was also balanced out by Eid effect getting over, especially in North. It was an absolutely regular working day which means as long as over Rs. 10 crores came on, that would have been good enough. Yes, had the collections went over the Rs. 12 crores mark then it would have been even better. However, since the second week for the film is totally open, shortfall if any would be taken care of then.

The film has now collected Rs. 116.68 crores and the first week would easily cross Rs. 130 crores mark. Post that, it would be about how quickly does it march towards the Rs. 200 crores mark. By the look of things, the milestone would be accomplished in the third weekend and then whatever additional comes on top of it will take it towards the Rs. 225 crores mark, hence ensuring that Housefull 5 becomes the highest grossing instalment of the franchise for Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Sajid Nadiadwala.

Housefull 5 is a success story and all that needs to be seen now is, how big! For the film to emerge as at least a reasonable success, a double digit score was needed on Monday. After the film took an opening of Rs. 24.35 crores, this was a bare minimum requirement for the film. Of course, a score of Rs. 12 crores+ would have been a better bet since that would have meant a drop of 50%, something that’s expected from a hardcore commercial film.

However, what happened on Monday was even better, what with as much as Rs. 13.15 crores coming in, which is a really good hold. The good part is that the hold is all across and not lopsided to any particular territory. The film has found acceptance amongst audiences, especially amongst families, and when that happened then footfalls in the evening and early night shows are always encouraging, as seen on Monday as well.

While the Akshay Kumar led killer comedy has already entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club with the collections reaching Rs. 104.98 crores, the real game is a double century score. This franchise by Sajid Nadiadwala has already seen Housefull 4 entering the Rs. 200 Crore Club and by the look of things so far, Housefull 5 is all set to achieve that milestone as well.

It was yet another big day for Housefull 5 as yet again more than Rs. 35 crores came in. On Saturday, the film had anyways scored quite well, which was also aided by Eid holiday. However, on Sunday there was no such advantage and still there was further growth over Saturday numbers, which is a testimony to the kind of acceptance that the multi-starrer affair led by Akshay Kumar had gained ever since release.

The Tarun Mansukhani directed film ended up gathering as big as Rs. 35.10 crores and these are as big as they get, especially when it comes to comedy genre. Unlike a horror comedy, which combines the two genres and hence has an advantage of catering to two different segment of audiences, this one is purely playing on the comedy factor because the suspense factor, especially in the times of social media, (unfortunately) gets out within 3 hours of a film’s release. It only goes on to show that the comedy quotient is working well with the audiences and that’s what is assuring excellent footfalls.

The film has now collected Rs. 91.83 crores already which means Sajid Nadiadwala could well be grinning from ear to ear. Fifth instalment of this well-established franchise is making good progress towards Rs. 200 crores+ lifetime and hold over the weekdays will only consolidate its stand further.

The stage was set on Friday when Housefull 5 took an opening of Rs. 24.35 crores and that too on a non-holiday. Hence, when Saturday saw Eid holiday coming into picture then there was an expected rise in collections. Of course, had this been the first day of release then the benefits would have been even better since on Saturday footfalls are as it is quite good. However, with word of mouth for the film being positive, the collections did end up seeing a very good rise.

No wonder, the film ended up growing huge as Rs. 30 crores milestone was crossed by the multi-starrer affair led by Akshay Kumar. So far, the biggest single day collections ever for the superstar has been Rs. 34 crores which was accumulated by 2.0 (Hindi) on its fourth day. Now Housefull 5 has already brought in Rs. 32.38 crores on Saturday and rest assured, Akshay Kumar would score the biggest ever day of his career today.

Sajid Nadiadwala has meanwhile scored the biggest ever day for him as his Housefull 4 had gathered Rs. 32 crores in its fourth day (day after Diwali) and now that number has been crossed by Housefull 5 on its second day. With the film setting new milestones, rest assured the filmmaker would be looking at bigger frontiers to be crossed with his next franchise offerings like Baaghi 4 (set to release later this year) and later Housefull 6 when it goes on floors. As for Housefull 5, the film has now collected Rs. 56.73 crores and is set to cross Rs. 90 crores milestone by the close of first weekend.

The collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala on Housefull 5 is turning out to be a success story at the box office. After an encouraging start of Rs. 24.35 crores, Housefull 5 saw a very good jump in business on Saturday. According to early estimates, the comedy film is expected to collect in the range of Rs. 30 crores to Rs. 32 crores, bringing the two-day collection to approximately Rs. 55 crores.

The film has seen a 25 percent jump across the national multiplex chains, and a 40 percent jump in non-national chains and single screens, taking the average all-India growth to 35 percent. The Akshay Kumar comedy will score an opening weekend of about Rs. 90 crores, and will enter the Rs. 100 crore club in just 4 days.

Housefull 5 is on track to emerge a hit, though a good hold on Monday is a must for the same.

It’s a very good start for Housefull 5. A biggie, it was always meant to open well, especially since it’s India’s only franchise to have actually moved to fifth instalment. The teaser, songs and trailer had done the trick as well and hence it was a given that 20 crores+ opening was there for the taking. Extra crores coming in would have only added to the base being set for further growth over the weekend and that’s how the trending is now going to look like as well for this comedy film with a dash of murder by street added to it.

The Akshay Kumar led film has opened at Rs. 24.35 crores and that’s a good start indeed, especially considering the fact that 2025 in particular has been very challenging for films to perform, be it big or small. There is a lot that goes behind getting audiences to theatres and here it has managed to do that on its own accord without any external push. Anything in and around Rs. 25 crores would have given this film a base to perform and with audience word of mouth being positive, as apparent in the evening and night shows that became even better with spot booking, it’s now going to see good growth over the weekend.

Sajid Nadiadwala can be assured that Housefull 5 would emerge as the biggest of them all when compared to the last four instalments by going past the Rs. 200 crores mark. For that good growth today and tomorrow, followed by stable weekdays would be the key. The closer the opening weekend comes to the Rs. 90 crores mark, the better it would be for the film to keep its pace towards a healthy first week score.

After tasting success with Kesari 2, Akshay Kumar returns to the commercial space with Housefull 5. According to early estimates, the Tarun Mansukhani-directed comic caper has collected in the range of Rs. 24 crores to Rs. 26 crores, surpassing all industry expectations.

The film has done well all across the board - be it single screens or multiplexes - and with a Bakri Eid Holiday on Saturday, the numbers are sure to see a surge. Housefull 5 is looking to collect around Rs. 12.25 crores across the national multiplex chains, which is a very good result.

The film will be aiming to hit the Rs. 100 crore mark in the opening weekend, which is a strong result. The on-ground reports are on the positive side, which means that the film will have a long run at the box office in the time to come.

Bhool Chuk Maaf continued its impressive run at the box office and is now displaying the kind of trending that separates the hits from the also-rans. After a strong opening weekend and a stable Monday, the film showed growth on Tuesday - a rare and significant achievement – raking in Rs. 5.10 crore, higher than Monday’s Rs. 4.60 crore. The jump can be attributed in part to discounted ticket prices on Tuesday, but also reflects the film’s strong word of mouth and audience retention.

The five-day total now stands at a commendable Rs. 38.41 crore. With two more days to go in the first week, the film is on track to finish its Week 1 with a total exceeding Rs. 45 crore – an excellent outcome given its modest expectations prior to release.

The daily trajectory has been very encouraging. It opened on Friday with Rs. 7.20 crore, saw significant growth over the weekend with Rs. 9.81 crore on Saturday and Rs. 11.70 crore on Sunday, followed by a steady Monday at Rs. 4.60 crore and then a surprise jump on Tuesday. What has worked further in favour of Bhool Chuk Maaf is the lack of any major Hindi release on the horizon. With Housefull 5 being the next big-ticket offering, scheduled to arrive later, this gives Bhool Chuk Maaf a clear runway to build on its current momentum. Industry insiders believe the film can post a very strong Week 2 as well, especially if weekday collections continue to hold at these levels.

Trade sources have already begun referring to Bhool Chuk Maaf as the surprise of the season, and if this trend continues, the film could eye a lifetime total in the Rs. 70–75 crore range, if not more.

After seeing a good third weekend, Raid 2 saw an expected drop in the fourth weekend. With Bhool Chuk Maaf surprising and the newest instalments of Mission: Impossible and Final Destination also in the running, there is major competition from Bollywood as well as Hollywood, as between them majority of screens and shows have been allocated.

The good part for the Ajay Devgn led film is that it still has few but key prime shows allocated for itself at most properties. As a result, it still can perform and it’s all about whether audiences are continuing to be excited about the film because if they do in the next days, then there can be more moolah accumulated.

The film has now gathered Rs. 165 crores* and while Rs. 170 crores will be surpassed this week, it has to be seen how much further than that can it can travel during its lifetime run. The shows will be further reduced when Housefull 5 arrives on June 6, but the job has been done and over Rs. 175 crores lifetime is guaranteed from here.

Bhool Chuk Maaf has taken a flying start at the box office, delivering an impressive Rs. 28.71 crore over its opening weekend in India. While discounted ticket pricing and aggressive promotional offers played a key role in driving footfalls on Friday, the film showed strong legs on Saturday and Sunday, proving its merit with audience word-of-mouth doing the heavy lifting.

Day-wise figures stood at Rs. 7.20 crore on Friday, Rs. 9.81 crore on Saturday, and an even stronger Rs. 11.70 crore on Sunday. What’s heartening is that the gains were not limited to national chains alone - non-national chains and single screens also held their own, with mass belts performing in the ‘good to decent’ range.

With a robust weekend behind it, all eyes are now on the crucial Monday test. A steady hold on Day 4 will be a decisive indicator of Bhool Chuk Maaf’s long-term prospects at the box office.

It is turning out to be a rather average hiring for Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning as the film has now got into the Rs. 4 crores range. It did stay over Rs. 5 crores mark on Monday and Tuesday but an inevitable dip has now come on Wednesday, what with Rs. 4.50 crores* coming in. Had this been the case with the film releasing on Thursday and then enjoying a four-day extended weekend followed by weekdays then it would still have been somewhat understandable. However instead, it saw a rather odd Saturday release, which means the weekend advantage was lost.

The Tom Cruise starrer did take a good opening of Rs. 17 crores* but then hardly grew on Sunday (Rs. 18 crores*). However, post that there was Monday drop seen with collections plummeting by more than 50%. Post that, Tuesday too saw a bit of a drop though it still stayed in that Rs. 5 crores range. However, with collections now seeing a further dip, one just waits to see if they stay stable today at least.

The good part is that the film has an open second week ahead since competition from Bollywood isn’t there much and it’s the Hollywood biggie that will stay on to be the top performer of the week. Later, there is no major release next weekend either which means till the release of Housefull 5, it would be Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning dominating the scene with biggest day on day collections. That would ensure that the film will comfortably grow over Rs. 52 crores* that it has collected so far and eventually close in the 80s.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning is doing well in India. After taking a start of Rs. 16.50 crores on Saturday, the film saw some growth on Sunday as Rs. 18 crores* came in. The growth is not huge and that’s on expected lines since it had pretty much maxed out on Saturday when it saw a release on a holiday. Had this been a regular Friday to Saturday to Sunday trajectory then the growth would have looked different.

That said, what it has achieved is also a very good number since, at least, audiences are stepping in theatres, and that’s a win to be celebrated. The reviews are generally good and while there are mixed reactions amongst audiences, the nostalgia around the brand Mission: Impossible means that, at least, first week would keep seeing good numbers.

Sunday collections are in fact similar to the best ever single day numbers that the entire franchise has managed in India. Prior to this, the best number ever was Rs. 18.08 crores that Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning had accumulated on its first Sunday. Post that it had done well enough to go past Rs. 100 crores lifetime. Here, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has gathered almost Rs. 35 crores* in two days but with Monday being its third day, it risks getting into a single digit score right away, which means the momentum would be disturbed. One now waits to see how does the shortened first week eventually look like for the Tom Cruise starrer.

Tom Cruise has done it again. His Mission: Impossible is a much-loved franchise in India and hence all eyes were on how big the newest instalment would, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, turn out to be. It was a given that the film will take a very good opening and a start of 10 cores was pretty much there for the taking. In fact, when the advance booking started and tickets started flying away quick, an opening of 15 crores was given. What had to be seen was, whether the film will turn out to be even bigger.

Well, as it turned out, the film in fact emerged as a one-horse race as it was way ahead of any competition around it. While Hollywood’s own Final Destination - Bloodlines had arrived and there was Bollywood’s Raid 2 as well continuing with good showcasing, it was Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning that had all eyes on it as audiences embraced it well. The start is in fact the best ever for the franchise.

The first day collections have come as Rs. 17 crores* and pretty much ensures a success in the making. Surprisingly, the film took a very odd start on a Saturday when such event releases actually choose to arrive on a Thursday instead of a conventional Friday. As a result, the core weekend per se will be for just two days since Monday is anyways a regular day with no partial holiday advantage either. Had this come on Friday then there would have been an advantage of at least Rs. 10-15 crores in the overall three-day weekend total.

Raid 2 has done well in its second week. Though Friday was impacted due to India-Pakistan situation, Saturday grew with vengeance and then Sunday was even better. Monday was quite close to Friday, which sealed the deal for the film while Tuesday benefitted from Blockbuster Tuesdays offer. Though there was a dip in collections on Wednesday (Rs. 3.32 crores) and Thursday (Rs. 2.98 crores), the job was already done for the film as it was not a bonafide hit.

With no major Hindi releases this week, the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer could well have benefitted immensely this weekend as well. However, the newest instalments of Mission: Impossible and Final Destination franchises arriving this week means that Hollywood will rule the roost at theatres. At least Rs. 50-60 crores would be collected between them over the weekend despite Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning arriving only on Saturday, and that means a huge impact will be felt by Raid 2 which otherwise have cruised past the Rs. 175 crores mark.

Currently, the film stands at Rs. 140.22 crores, which means Rs. 175 crores is still possible. However, that would be a stretch since both the Hollywood films are carrying good to excellent reports. But Rs. 150 crores mark will be comfortably crossed before the close of weekend.

Raid 2 went ahead with the Blockbuster Tuesdays offer, what with Rs. 4.53 crores coming in. With Monday bringing on Rs. 4.88 crores, one expected that the collections would comfortably go past Rs. 5 crores mark due to Rs. 99/= offer coming into picture. However, that didn’t happen surprisingly and while there was still a bit of a growth (which is certainly better than a fall), one expected better.

This may be because on Monday the film over-performed a bit due to overflow from that segment of audiences which couldn’t watch the film over the weekend. Also, there was Buddh Purnima partial holiday which had resulted in a surge in collections. Nonetheless, that one opportunity to score Rs. 5 crores+ number during one of the weekdays as well has been missed and this will now happen again on Saturday next with a very good jump yet again round the corner.

So far, the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer has collected Rs. 133.92 crores and while a dip would be seen today due to regular ticket prices coming into picture and also special night shows of the latest Final Destination film, Rs. 140 crores mark will still be certainly crossed by close of week. The film is a hit already and while Rs. 175 crores lifetime is there for the taking, anything on top of that would be an added bonus.

After seeing very good jump on Saturday and then showing growth yet again on Sunday, Raid 2 had consolidated its positioning quite well at the box office. While it was now a given that the weekdays would be stable as well with around Rs. 3 crores coming at least on Monday or Tuesday, no one was prepared for how things actually unfold at the box office.

Well, there was a pleasant surprise round the corner for the industry as Monday numbers came to Rs. 4.88 crores. This is very good since on Friday the film had brought in Rs. 5.01 crores and even after considering the fact that the decline was seen due to geopolitical scenario, still for the film to collect so close to this number on Monday is a testimony to the fact that it has been accepted well by the audience. Had things being normal last week, then too Friday would have been Rs. 7 crores at best. So, what we see on Monday is still a fair drop over that perceived number.

The good thing is that today Rs. 99/= has come back in action due to Blockbuster Tuesdays offer, which means collections would be better than Monday. As a result, we are looking at weekdays further contributing at least Rs. 18 crores with an outside chance of Rs. 20 crores being hit as well. The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer has now reached Rs. 129.39 crores and by the close of second week, Rs. 140 crores would be comfortably surpassed.

Hit.

After a solid opening, Raid 2 has shown exceptional staying power at the box office, collecting an impressive Rs. 25.62 crore in its second weekend. With this figure, the film has now claimed the title of the second highest second weekend grosser of 2025, only behind the historical epic Chhaava, which earned a staggering Rs. 109.23 crore during its second weekend.

[caption id="attachment_1980564" align="aligncenter" width="620"] Raid 2 Box Office Ajay Devgn's thriller continues to dominate; Becomes 2025’s Second Highest Second Weekend Grosser[/caption]

Despite a wide gap between the top spot and the rest, Raid 2 comfortably outperformed its closest competitors, including action-drama Sky Force (Rs. 19.80 cr) and war saga Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs. 19.39 cr), both of which had promising starts but witnessed sharper drops in momentum by their second weekends.

With its gripping narrative and Ajay Devgn’s commanding performance, Raid 2 continues to draw audiences, and if the trend holds, it could become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. The coming weekdays and third weekend will now be crucial in determining its final box office standing.

Second Weekend Box Office Collections (2025):

Chhaava: Rs. 109.23 cr | +326.39% more than Raid 2 Raid 2: Rs. 25.62 cr | +29.45% more than Sky Force Sky Force: Rs. 19.80 cr | +2.11% more than Kesari Chapter 2 Kesari Chapter 2: Rs. 19.39 cr | +49.83% more than Jaat Jaat: Rs. 12.94 cr

Raid 2 did quite well in its second weekend as Rs. 25.62 crores came in. Yes, around Rs. 30 crores was possible in a regular scenario but then it is what it is because on the flip side, the film could well have struggled to collect even Rs. 10 crores had any major panic set in. In such a scenario, it’s about doing the best in its best capacity and that’s what Raid 2 is doing.

On Sunday, the film brought in Rs. 12.09 crores more and that’s further jump over Saturday’s numbers. That’s a very good sign because flat collections would have meant that Monday may well have seen a notable drop. For now, it looks like Rs. 3.50-4 crores could well be on the cards and from Friday numbers of Rs. 5.01 crores, this would be a reasonable hold.

The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer now stands at Rs. 124.51 crores and by the close of second week, it would have touched Rs. 135 crores. The weekend gone by has also given it a big push towards that Rs. 150 crores milestone and it will reach there within three weeks itself.

Raid 2 saw very good jump on Saturday as Rs. 8.52 crores came in. On Friday, the film had collected Rs. 5.01 crores, so this is very healthy. That’s the kind of trend which has been seen with accepted movies, especially in last couple of years. However, the current geopolitical scenario means that nothing is really on predictable lines. Still, if the film has reached this far then it’s quite commendable.

The fact also remains that things could have really slid for the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer had it been entirely about the “sentiments of the nation” because in that case the film could well have got into that Rs. 2-3 crores zone, as was seen in March 2020 when pandemic had struck and panic had just started building up. Nothing of that sort is happening so far, which means patrons are pretty much stepping out for films.

The film now stands at Rs. 112.42 crores and it will now get into that Rs. 120 crores+ zone by the time the second weekend is through. Raid 2 is successful already and this also means that right till the release of Housefull 5, this one will keep running in theatres and collect well. After Jaat and Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, Bollywood has now seen third theatrical success in a row, and that’s a welcome relief for the ailing industry.

Raid 2 has officially entered the Rs. 100 crores club at the Indian box office, adding another commercial success to Ajay Devgn’s long list of hits. The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has maintained a steady pace even after an impressive long first weekend. The film’s score currently stands at Rs. 103.90 crores and it still has a long way to go at the box office.

With this, Raid 2, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh in a pivotal role, becomes the 16th film in Ajay Devgn’s career to surpass the Rs. 100 crore nett mark domestically. The actor first entered the club with Golmaal 3 in 2010 and has since added titles like Singham, Bol Bachchan, Son Of Sardaar, Shivaay, and De De Pyaar De. The first film Raid also earned similar numbers, laying the groundwork for this sequel’s anticipation. Over the past few years, his films like Singham Returns, Total Dhamaal, Drishyam 2, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Shaitaan, and Singham Again have further contributed to his box office streak, with Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior emerging as a standout performer in terms of lifetime collections.

Raid 2’s performance highlights the enduring appeal of the franchise and its central character, IRS officer Amay Patnaik. The crime drama format, blended with taut writing, seems to have found favour once again with audiences. The film opened to an unprecedented number of almost Rs. 20 crores and its stable run on the weekdays pushed it comfortably past the three-digit mark.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and produced under the banners of T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 also stars Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Supriya Pathak.

Ajay Devgn’s Rs. 100 crores grossers at a glance:

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior – Rs. 279.55 crores

Singham Again – Rs. 268.35 crores

Drishyam 2 – Rs. 240.54 crores

Golmaal Again – Rs. 205.69 crores

Total Dhamaal – Rs. 154.23 crores

Shaitaan – Rs. 149.49 crores

Singham Returns – Rs. 140.62 crores

Gangubai Kathiawadi – Rs. 129.10 crores

Golmaal 3 – Rs. 106.34 crores

Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid 2 entered the Rs. 100 crores club on the last day of its extended first week yesterday. The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer currently stands at Rs. 103.90 crores and it has not ended its box office journey yet.

Hence, Raid 2 has become the fourth film of 2025 to enter the three figure mark after Chhaava, Sky Force and Sikandar. Raid 2 has also become the third fastest film of the year to enter the Rs. 100 Crores Club by defeating the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar. The Devgn starrer took nine days to enter the club while the Salman film did that in 10 days.

The first position in the list is acquired by director Laxman Utekar’s Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava, which entered the Rs. 100 Crores Club in just three days. The Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer Sky Force is in the second position as it took eight days to reach the three figure mark.

Raid 2 is the sequel to the successful Raid, which had released in 2018. Produced under the banners of T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, the film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Supriya Pathak.

The Rs. 100 crores grossers of 2025 and the number of days they took to reach the three figure mark:

Chhaava – 3 days

Sky Force – 8 days

Raid 2 – 9 days

Sikandar – 10 days

There was a decent hold for Raid 2 on Friday as Rs. 5.01 crores came in. On Thursday, the film had collected Rs. 5.33 crores, so there is a bit of a drop that has come in. Now in any other week, with no new release, a set film would have actually seen some kind of an increment. However, here it has been a drop.

Now one can’t say with absolute certainty that the drop is just due to the fact that the geopolitical situation of the country is currently disturbed, or also because the film has anyways over performed during the first four days so is settling down now. It could well be a mix of both reasons and honestly, one can’t pin point the quantum involved due to both the factors. Still, the fact also remains that the what seemed like a very comfortable Rs. 150 crores+ film after the extended opening weekend will now have to probably settle for somewhat lesser.

Still, the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer is a hit and with no other release this week, it will benefit for sure. There would be Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning from next Saturday, which means the film still has seven more days of an absolutely uninterrupted run. It has also entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club, what with Rs. 103.90 crores in its kitty so far. Jumps today and tomorrow would take it into that Rs. 115-120 crores range before the weekdays kickstart.

It was a good extended Week One for Raid 2 as the film just fell short of the Rs. 100 crores mark. Till Tuesday, it seemed like a cakewalk but then the current geopolitical situation meant that there was a loss of at least Rs. 4-5 crores, with collections getting impacted on Wednesday and Thursday.

Yes, there was a drop in collections on Monday too but then that was relatively speaking because the opening weekend was so high. Otherwise, going by the genre of the film, to come close to Rs. 7.50 crores on both Monday and Tuesday was quite good too, and then even in the worst case scenario at least Rs. 12 crores more would have come on the next two days. However, there was a sharp decline seen on Wednesday when Rs. 4.81 crores came in and while there was an expected jump in collections again on Thursday with Rs. 5.33 crores being scored, the fact remains that the battle situation has impacted audience footfalls.

One waits with bated breath to check out how the situation unfolds during coming weekend. Had it been a regular scenario, then there would have been good stability today and then very good jump tomorrow with double digit score set to be hit all over again on Sunday. However, for now it’s going to be a wait and watch scenario. The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer is portable for sure with Rs. 98.89 crores in its kitty so far, though it will rue the fact that it may not cover the kind of distance that had earlier seemed last Sunday when Rs. 22.52 crores were scored.

While things were going quite good for Raid 2, especially on Monday and Tuesday as well when the collections were ultra stable at Rs. 7.47 crores and Rs. 7.45 crores respectively, the unfortunate turn of events due to current geopolitical scenario meant that patrons stayed away from the big screen and were instead glued to the small screen with minute-by-minute updates on the latest situation. As a result, the numbers dipped much more than expected as Rs. 4.81 crores came in.

Needless to say, if not for the war cry, the collections would have been Rs. 6.50 crores at the very minimum even with day-on-day drop coming into picture. However, there was a steep drop seen. Today, one waits to see how the collections turn out to be as they could go further down, go up or stay in the same zone. Whatever happens, the film will now need Friday to enter Rs. 100 Crores Club as it will fall short of achieving this milestone in its extended eight-day weekend.

Currently, the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer stands at Rs. 93.56 crores and the best-case scenario would be for it to touch Rs. 99 crores, even if a good jump comes in again. The film is a hit but now one can’t say for sure that whether Rs. 150 crores lifetime would be definitely met. It’s not just the weekend ahead that will give an idea around that but every day from this moment on will be the deciding factor.

Raid 2 was rock steady on Tuesday as Rs. 7.45 crores came in. There was practically no drop in collections when compared to Monday (Rs. 7.47 crores). They needed to stay over Rs. 6.50 crores so that around Rs. 6 crores each come in today and tomorrow as well. This has happened which is indeed good news for the film.

The film did quite well in its four-day extended weekend and that helped it sail through smoothly. The film is seeing a hit response for itself though to emerge as a superhit, it should have continued bringing in numbers in that Rs. 8-9 crores range. Had that been the case then the film could well have moved a lot ahead of that Rs. 150 crores mark. Right now, a lifetime in the vicinity of Rs. 150 crores milestone is still there for the taking and going by the merits of the film, this is a very healthy number.

Currently standing at Rs. 88.75 crores, the Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer has done quite well to reach here in quick time. The extended eight-day week would see around Rs. 100 crores come in and then the second weekend will certainly bring in at least Rs. 25 crores, which would be enough to help it keep moving towards that Rs. 150 crores mark. A year after Shaitaan, Ajay Devgn again has a solid hit in hand and with biggies like Son Of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2 coming up next, 2025 is set to close on a high for him.

After scoring a fantastic extended weekend, Raid 2 needed to have a good Monday, so that it not just scored a very good first week but also goes on to have a longer run. The comparison needed to be with Friday which had seen Rs. 13.05 crores coming in. Going by the trend when Sunday had zoomed to Rs. 22.52 crores, it had seemed that Rs. 8-9 crores could well be on the cards as well. Of course, that would have been on the higher end since a majority of audiences had anyways watched the movie in the extended four-day weekend.

Nonetheless, the collections still came to Rs. 7.47 crores and that’s a good number as well since so many movies have been struggling to get something like this on their very first day. Hence, for the Ajay Devgn starrer to score as much on its fifth day is the testimony to the fact that it has been accepted by the audience. What it needs from here on though is to stay stable right through the weekdays with Thursday not going below Rs. 5-5.50 crores range. There would be drops for sure but still as long as there is decent stability, it would take the film into a very good zone.

So far, the film has collected Rs. 81.03 crores and though by Sunday it had seemed that 100 crores would be reached by Thursday itself, now it would be touch and go. Nonetheless, all of that is academic since the film has done well enough to aim for that Rs. 150 crores+ lifetime score, which is there for the taking, hence emerging as a hit.

After maintaining good momentum during its first three days, Raid 2 came on its own on Sunday as for the first time in its run, Rs. 20 crores mark was crossed. The film has anyways been over performing ever since its release and on its fourth day, a full holiday, it has collected as much as Rs. 22.52 crores, which is quite good.

Raid 2 is doing well across proprieties, be it multiplexes and single screens, and A or B centres. Raid had also done well but that was primarily at the multiplexes and urban centres. On the other hand, Raid 2 has managed to cut across boundaries and become accessible beyond that as well, which reflects in the kind of growth that it has managed so far. Of course, all-important weekdays will decide where the film eventually heads for but at the very minimal, it’s a hit for sure.

The Rajkumar Gupta directed film now stands at Rs. 73.83 crores and needless to say, it will comfortably enter the Rs. 100 Crore Club this week. In fact, there is a very good probability that the feat could well be accomplished by Wednesday itself, which means a century score in the first 7 days run!

Raid 2 has been accepted well by the audiences. The film is finding good footfalls and is doing well all over with steady collections. Of course it has been released widely but as has been seen in the past, just that doesn’t guarantee good numbers. At the end of the day, there needs to be audience interest in the film as well and considering the fact that this is the third day running and still the numbers are quite good, it goes on to show that the film will run for a while at least.

On its opening day the film had collected Rs. 19.71 crores and now the third day numbers also stand at Rs. 18.55 crores, which is impressive. The film needed to be as close as possible to the first day and it has managed to do that, which means tomorrow is going to be the best day of its run so far. Otherwise, it has been seen so many times that the first day, especially when it’s on a holiday, stays on to be the best day at the box office. That’s not the case there as it would be Sunday on which this will happen.

The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer has also scored a half century now, what with the collections standing at Rs. 51.31 crores. The momentum is on the film’s side which means Rs. 70 crores milestone will be comfortably crossed by the time the extended weekend comes to a close.

The Ajay Devgn-led Raid 2 is showing a fantastic trend at the box office, as the film is seeing a 50 percent surge in collections on the third day with estimates in the range of Rs. 18.50 crore to Rs. 19.50 crore. The business is up all across the board, with Maharashtra and Gujarat continuing to dominate the show.

The film has hit the Rs. 50 crore mark in 3 days flat and is now aiming at an extended weekend of Rs. 70 crores. The biggest positive for the Ajay Devgn starrer rests in the fact that the business is picking up in North India as well, which also indicates a long and steady theatrical run. The film is already a success story with this trend, and one needs to see how big a hit it becomes in the time to come.

Raid 2 is made on a limited budget and will prove to be a major money spinner for producers - Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat.

After doing quite well on Thursday when Rs. 19.71 crores came in, Raid 2 did well on Friday too by comfortably going past the double digit mark. That seemed to be on the cards as well since the opening day numbers had anyways exceeded expectations which had taken it much higher up the charts. This meant that even if a drop of 50% came in due to Friday being a regular working day, the collections would still have been around Rs. 10 crores.

The Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh starrer did better than that as the drop was much lesser than 50%, and as a result as much as Rs. 13.05 crores came in. In the current times, even if this would have been Thursday number of the film (especially without the holiday factor), then it would have been considered good and here it’s coming when this is not just a working day but also the second day in the running at theatres.

The collections so far stand at Rs. 32.76 crores. Today, the film will grow well again, though it has to be seen that how much closer to the Thursday numbers that it gets. If not today, then at least tomorrow it will certainly go past the Rs. 20 crores mark which means overall an extended weekend of around Rs. 70 crores is on the cards.
