After scoring an ultra-huge extended first week that saw a staggering Rs. 433.50 crores coming in, Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) had an astonishing second week as well that missed Rs. 200 crores mark by just one crore. As much as Rs. 199 crores came in the week gone by which is a huge record by a distance.

Now, the third week has started with a bang as well, what with yet another double digit day being scored. Rs. 12.50 crores more were accumulated on Friday and that’s not too far away from Thursday which had seen Rs. 14 crores been registered at the box office. Anything over Rs. 10 crores would have been superb for the film at the start of the third week and here the numbers are a bit higher than that. Moreover, today there would be a huge jump seen in collections and Rs. 20 crores mark will certainly be crossed, which would be just amazing. Then tomorrow the film will be aiming at Rs. 25 crores and rest assured, there are record numbers on the way for the Allu Arjun starrer.

There is no competition for the film in the Hindi circuits and this is where the film is anyways doing maximum business. There have been a few south movies that have arrived, which are doing quite well regionally. Still, at an all-India level, it’s Pushpa 2 (Hindi) that would be ruling the charts all over. With Rs. 645 crores in its kitty so far, the film will come close to Rs. 700 crores before it steps into the weekdays.

It was a slow start for Vanvaas as Rs. 73 lakhs came on first day. This isn’t entirely surprising since the film was as it is dependent entirely on word of mouth due to its theme and cast. Yes, Anil Sharma is at the director’s seat but then he is known more for his high decibel big budget action dramas whereas this one is more of an intimate family drama about parents turning old. Hence, at least from the opening perspective, the footfalls were always going to be limited.

Still, on a regular Friday, one would have expected an opening day number on the lines of Uunchai. The Amitabh Bachchan led family drama had taken an opening of Rs. 1.81 crore which shows the kind of limitation that this genre has. Hence, the best case scenario for Vanvaas too was Rs. 1.50-2 crores. However, with Pushpa 2: The Rule wave being way too strong, which is keeping other films at bay in the third week as well, it was always going to pose a huge challenge to any other smaller release. Moreover, there is Mufasa: The Lion King which has released as well and that too ironically is also the second choice at best for the patrons.

One now waits to see if this Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma starter manages to grow well on the basis of word of mouth. Ideally, the numbers would need to double up today so that there is some kind of momentum that picks up. If the growth is only around 50% then it would be tough since there is going to be further competition ahead in the form of Baby John which arrives mid-Week on Wednesday, 25th December.

The Disney Live Action film, Mufasa: The Lion King has taken a good start in India, as the film has collected in the range of Rs. 9 to 9.50 crores on the first day. The film has done the best business in Telugu version, where the business got benefit due to the dubbing done by Mahesh Babu. The second best-performing version is Hindi, due to the Shah Rukh Khan factor followed by English.

Being a kids friendly film, the collections will see a spike on Saturday and Sunday, and the Hollywood film is looking to pack a solid punch with business around the Rs. 35 crore mark. It's the holiday period and with the support of family audience, Mufasa is expected to record a strong trend in through the new year period and enter the Rs. 100 crore club at the box office.

The film has faced competition from Pushpa 2 on the first day, as the Allu Arjun starrer has also collected around the Rs. 12 crore mark on Day 16, and there will be even more drop in showcasing on December 25, owing to the release of Baby John.

Yet, there is enough for Mufasa to hit the bull's eye at the box office in India.

Pushpa 2 – The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, that released on December 5, 2024 has been doing roaring business. After witnessing an immense rate of advance bookings, the business of the film roared on day 1 with staggering collections. Surrounded with immense hype and anticipation, Pushpa 2 has not just dominated the box office but has also rewritten records in its first two weeks of release. The film has crossed a monumental Rs. 632.50 crore mark in just 15 days, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, surpassing the Rajkummar Rao – Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2, which previously held the record. This achievement is all the more impressive considering that Pushpa 2 is primarily a Telugu film dubbed in Hindi, and it continues to captivate audiences across India and abroad.

Released on a Thursday, Pushpa 2 – The Rule opened to a massive reception, with fans eagerly flocking to theatres to witness Allu Arjun’s return as the iconic Pushpa Raj. The film made an incredible ₹433.50 crore in its first week alone, despite being released during a relatively less favourable time in terms of competition.

The film's debut was nothing short of phenomenal. By the end of its first week (8 days), Pushpa 2 had already grossed Rs. 433.50 crore globally, with a significant contribution from the Hindi belt. The film's Hindi version alone amassed a staggering Rs. 250 crore in the opening week, signalling the growing fanbase of Allu Arjun outside of South India. This number broke several records for a South Indian film in the Hindi market, firmly establishing Allu Arjun as a pan-Indian star.

The film’s gripping narrative, powerful performances, and mass appeal coupled with stellar action sequences drove audiences to theatres, leading to a consistently strong box office performance. With positive word-of-mouth and high demand for repeat viewings, Pushpa 2 not only set a box office benchmark but also generated significant buzz on social media, further propelling its success.

Even after the euphoria of the opening week, Pushpa 2 continued to perform exceptionally well in its second week. The film collected Rs. 199 crore globally in its second week, further consolidating its place in the history of Indian cinema. While the collections saw a slight dip in the second week, this was expected as most films experience a drop after the opening wave. However, given the intense competition from other big-budget releases, the numbers are still a testament to the film's massive appeal.

In just 15 days, Pushpa 2 – The Rule has grossed Rs. 632.50 crore globally, making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. This milestone surpasses Stree 2, which had previously held the record with a lifetime gross of Rs. 600 crore. For a film that is not a traditional Hindi-language production, this is an extraordinary feat.

The film's success is also a reflection of the growing demand for South Indian cinema across the country. The Hindi-speaking audience has increasingly embraced films dubbed from regional languages, and Pushpa 2 is a prime example of how language barriers are being broken down in the Indian film industry.

As Pushpa 2 continues to perform at an impressive pace, the film's overall lifetime collections are expected to rise significantly, with the possibility of crossing the Rs. 700 crore mark in the coming weeks. Its success has already set the stage for a potential third installment, and fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next in the saga of Pushpa Raj.

Pushpa 2 – The Rule Box Office at a glance:

The much talked about and keenly anticipated Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule released a while back. After the stunning success of Pushpa: The Rise, the sequel of the film which came with immense hype and anticipation has been well received by the masses, living up to expectations. After a staggeringly successful advance booking rate, the opening day business of Pushpa 2 witnessed record breaking footfalls, now after nearly two weeks at the box office, since its release on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2 has set a record. In fact, the Aalu Arjun starrer has emerged as the first ever film to cross the Rs. 200 cr. nett. mark within the Mumbai circuit alone.

Collecting over Rs. 200 cr. nett in Mumbai alone, Pushpa 2: The Rule has managed to surpass previous big-ticket releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 191.58 cr, the recently released Shraddha Kapoor – Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 that collected Rs. 189.87 cr, and even the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan that had collected Rs. 166.52 cr within the Mumbai circuit. If that wasn’t enough, the business of Pushpa 2 in Mumbai has also surpassed other releases like Gadar 2 (Rs. 147.33 cr), Jawan (Rs. 141.09 cr), Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior (Rs. 136.94 cr) and KGF – Chapter 2 (Rs. 134.61 cr).

The incredible success of Pushpa 2: The Rule in the Mumbai circuit is a testament to its widespread appeal across audiences. The film's gripping narrative, larger-than-life action sequences, and Allu Arjun's powerhouse performance have resonated not just in its traditional strongholds in the South but also in key markets across North India. Currently the success of the film is being attributed to a combination of massive pre-release buzz, the film’s pan-India appeal and of course Allu Arjun’s stardom.

With Pushpa 2 dominating the box office and continuing to draw crowds even after two weeks of release, it shows no signs of slowing down. Analysts predict it could set new benchmarks in other circuits and emerge as one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema history.

As the numbers roll in, Pushpa 2: The Rule solidifies Allu Arjun's place in the pantheon of megastars while redefining box office success in India.

Highest Grossing Films within the Mumbai Circuit: Pushpa 2 – The Rule – Rs. 200 cr. Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion - Rs. 191.58 cr. Stree 2 - Rs. 189.87 cr. Pathaan - Rs. 166.52 cr. Gadar 2 - Rs. 147.33 cr. Jawan - Rs. 141.09 cr. Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior - Rs. 136.94 cr. K.G.F - Chapter 2 - Rs. 134.61 cr.

The last big Hollywood film of the year, Mufasa: The Lion King, will be released in cinemas tomorrow, December 20. A lot of expectations are riding on it and though the advances are slow, the film is expected to fetch a good opening at the box office.

As per the data available with Bollywood Hungama, as of Thursday, December 19, 11:00 am, the film has sold 35,000 tickets in PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. The silver lining is that the tickets are consistently getting sold with every passing hour. Moreover, spot bookings are also expected big time tomorrow once the film releases.

There are many factors that also go in favour of Mufasa: The Lion King. It is released in the lucrative Christmas period. A multiplex manager told us, “The film will benefit on Christmas Eve on Tuesday, December 24. It is as big as a holiday. Christmas on Wednesday will also be huge. Similarly, next week, the film will have a benefit on Tuesday, December 31, a part holiday-of-sorts followed by the big holiday on Wednesday, January 1.”

The source continued, “The last film in this series, The Lion King (2019), used to do big business on weekends as it’s a true-blue family entertainer. Also, the voiceover by Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi version and Mahesh Babu in the Telugu version coupled with the popularity of the franchise will lead to healthy ticket sales.” In fact, theatres in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana belt have already started putting up large cut-outs of Mahesh Babu outside theatres screening Mufasa: The Lion King.

The Lion King opened at Rs. 11.06 crores and then jumped to Rs. 19.15 crores on its second day. On its third day, the film earned Rs. 24.54 crores which was more than double the Friday collections. The trade expects Mufasa: The Lion King to also open in the same range as its predecessor.

A few challenges, however, still remain – Pushpa 2 – The Rule continues to attract viewers in hordes. Secondly, Baby John releases on Wednesday, December 25. However, as it is often seen in the past, a grand cinematic film with positive word of mouth can work, come what may. Hence, a thumbs up from the audience is all that Mufasa: The Lion King needs to succeed at the ticket window.

It’s two weeks since the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) and its pace stays on to be relentless as ever. Even on its 14th day, the film brought in Rs. 17 crores more and there are hardly any releases in 2024 that brought this much on their first day. In fact, leave aside the first day, this much didn’t come across the entire first weekend for most of the films and here this dubbed release is getting as much when there is a day still left in the second week.

The film had collected Rs. 19.50 crores on Tuesday so yet again, the drop is negligible. Also, this confirms that the second week will end on a high with at least Rs. 15 crores set to come in today. Tomorrow will be the start of a new week, and it would be interesting to see if the Allu Arjun starrer stays at the same levels as today or collects Rs. 1 crore more or lesser than that. Rest assured, there would be fireworks on Saturday and at least Rs. 25 crores will come in again.

So far, this Sukumar directed film has netted Rs. 618.50 crores already and two-week collections would be around Rs. 635 crores. There is a good possibility that with some real good push, the film will enter Rs. 700 Crore Club by the close of third weekend itself and that would indeed be one terrific feat.

It’s a 600 for Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi)! In just 13 days, the film has now entered the Rs. 600 Crore Club. No one, just no one could have predicted something like this happening before the release. Wait, not just before but even post release, this wasn’t something that was on the cards. Yes, the film did take a start of Rs. 72 crores on Thursday but still, what was being spoken about was a lifetime of around Rs. 600 crores, and not the kind of numbers that you would end up seeing inside first couple of weeks itself.

However, this has happened indeed, what with Tuesday turning out to be another phenomenal day and resulting in Rs. 19.50 crores being collected. That’s hardly a drop when compared to Rs. 20.50 crores which had come on Monday. That was as it is an unthinkable number and with Tuesday not falling much either, it’s now a done deal that Thursday collections would be in and around Rs. 15 crores mark. This also means that the second weekend would kickstart with a bang too and at the very least, Rs. 60 crores more would come in then.

Coming to the present though, the film has now collected Rs. 601.50 crores and there are two more days remaining in this week which means Rs. 630 crores would be crossed before the third weekend begins. The film is now set to cross Rs. 700 crores mark after three weeks and from there its journey towards Rs. 800 crores lifetime will begin.

In a year when a double-digit opening day has been elusive for many a biggie and to get a Rs. 20 crores weekend has been rare, here comes Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi), which has created yet another huge record. It has now turned out to be the first ever film in history to cross Rs. 20 crores mark on its second Monday. Yes, you read it right! A Rs. 20 crores + haul and that too on its 12th day of running in theatres has been simply a dream run for the film, and this now further confirms that this Allu Arjun starrer is not going to be off theatres anytime soon.

To think of it, as much as Rs. 20.50 crores came on Monday, and one just can’t explain how it’s really happening, as it’s all so unprecedented. On Friday, the film had collected Rs. 27.50 crores and while even 50% drop on Monday would have been acceptable, a number around Rs. 15 crores would have been quite good too. However here the film is still staying on to be in the 20s and though it would be difficult to maintain this kind of figure for rest of the weekdays, what’s assured is that even till Thursday, the collections would be around Rs. 15 crores.

This Sukumar directed film has now accumulated Rs. 582 crores and the unbelievable could well be happening if collections don’t drop much today, and as a result Rs. 600 Crore Club comes calling by tonight itself. Even if that doesn’t turn out to be the case, then it’s certainly happening tomorrow morning at least, which means a new record of Rs. 600 crores+ coming in less than two weeks is there for the taking.

Amazing, just amazing!

It’s a 50, and a big one at that! Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) is continuing to fire away and everyday it is collecting on such a humongous note that the actual numbers are not surprising anymore. You are pretty much prepared for one huge record after another and so far the film has been setting that practically every day.

This is something that happened on Sunday as well as Rs. 54 crores came in. Yes, this has actually happened in a year when to get this much over the first weekend has been a reason to celebrate for so many biggies out there and here comes Pushpa 2 (Hindi), which does that on its 11th day. It’s as if the laws of box office are just not applying for the film and it’s creating its own course, something that will set the path for many a biggie to follow and try to emulate.

With this, the Allu Arjun starrer has now reached Rs. 561.50 crores and in a matter of one huge weekend, it has now made its journey into the Rs. 600 Crore Club so smooth. To get those Rs. 40 crores odd in the next 4 days is going to be a cakewalk for the film which means that after Jawan and Stree 2, we will soon have another Rs. 600 crores film in a matter of just a year. Post that, there is Mufasa and Vanvaas next Friday, and it would be interesting to see how audiences prioritise their movie watching experience.

Nothing, just about nothing can really explain the phenomenon that Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) is turning out to be. There is just no explanation to the kind of craze that the film is at theatres, what with yet another huge day at the box office. One knew that the film will cross Rs. 30 crores with ease and even Rs. 35 crores would be possible. However, no one was quite prepared for how that will actually unfold on Saturday.

Yes, history continues to be created with every passing day as an unimaginable Rs. 46.50 crores came on Saturday. You heard it right! Something like this has never happened before but it’s indeed happening for Pushpa 2 (Hindi) as a never-seen-before number has come on Saturday. Clearly, the film has been loved immensely by the audiences and newer and newer set of fans are being created for this character Pushpa which is sure to rewrite history when Pushpa 3: The Rampage is made.

This Allu Arjun film has now also entered the Rs. 500 Crore Club at a very rapid pace while being in theatres for just 10 days. With Rs. 507.50 crores in its kitty so far, that’s a whopping average of over Rs. 50 crores per day. To think of it, we are just talking about the Hindi version which goes on to show how much potential do movies have when they are actually made for theatres and cater to entire family audiences.

History has been created. Not just has Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) entered its second week with a bang, it has also gone past the elusive Rs. 20 crores mark. Wait, there is more. It has, in fact, gone past a massive Rs. 25 crores and that’s just stupendous as hardly any films have actually done that on their first Friday in 2024. However, this Allu Arjun starrer has done that on its second Friday and that goes on to show the kind of might that the film carries.

The film brought in Rs. 27.50 crores and that pretty much reaffirms that at the bare minimum, Rs. 250 crores more are there for the taking in its run till Republic Day weekend. There is no stopping the film as it continues to do tremendously well all over. Moreover, with repeat audiences coming in as well, there is further moolah being added to the film. In fact, this week too the film is running without any competition whatsoever as holdover releases have hardly got any showcasing and there has been no new release either. This means all screens and all shows are reserved for this family action drama.

Currently, this Sukumar directed film stands at Rs. 461 crores and while it will enter Rs. 500 Crore Club tomorrow morning, the overall collections could well be aiming for Rs. 525 crores before the start of the weekdays. The film is finding huge patronage in theatres at a rapid pace and while Rs. 700 crores is sealed for the film, there is a good chance that it may well hit Rs. 800 crores as well.

Filmmaker Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has actually been ruling the roost at the box office. There were high expectations from the Allu Arjun starrer action entertainer after the first film in the franchise Pushpa: The Rise became a surprise success at the box office once it was released in December 2021. The success of its Hindi version was unprecedented. But the second film in the franchise has surpassed expectations as it has crossed over Rs. 400 crores in Hindi itself and that too in just one week.

But the success of Pushpa 2 is not just limited to India. The film has been doing tremendously well in the international (or should we say “yinternational” like Allu Arjun says in the film?) markets as well. The film crossed the glorious figure of Rs. 1000 crores gross in just six days. Following this, the latest update is that it scored a healthy Rs. 65 crores gross yesterday as well.

This brings the film’s grand international total to a staggering Rs. 1067 crores in just seven days. It is anyways a big deal if a film reaches the four figure mark after a few weeks. But in the case of Pushpa 2, it has arrived this far well before completing even 10 days at the box office. It will be interesting to see where the film heads both nationally and internationally from here onwards.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in important roles.

The party continues for Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) as Wednesday too came up with outstanding collections. The film had another day of Rs. 30 crores+ as Rs. 31.50 crores came in. This isn’t much of a drop from Tuesday collections of Rs. 36 crores and today too, the film will collect over Rs. 25 crores, which will be simply superb.

In the process, the Allu Arjun starrer has now entered the Rs. 400 Crore Club. It’s only the second film of the year to do that after Stree 2 and to think of it, it has been in theatres for only one week. This also makes it the fastest film ever to cross Rs. 400 crores mark and in 11 days flat, it will score another huge record of an entry into the Rs. 500 Crore Club, which too would be the fastest ever.

The Sukumar directed film stands at Rs. 406.50 crores and will hit Rs. 430 crores by tonight, hence bringing the extended first week to a close. Post that to bring in Rs. 70 crores more in the second weekend would be a cakewalk and one can’t put a number on how much further than Rs. 500 crores will it go once the weekdays kickstart. There is a huge momentum that’s on side of the film and its journey towards the Rs. 600 Crore Club would be at a very high pace before it settles down.

Pushpa 2: The Rule has been making waves at the box office ever since its release. The film opened to a roaring response from audiences across the board and it has been earning tremendous numbers. The Hindi version of the Allu Arjun starrer stormed the box office with a phenomenal opening of Rs. 72 crores in India and has till now earned a mammoth Rs 375 crores. These are just the Hindi figures for the film. It’s performance Pan-India has been even greater.

But that’s not all. Pushpa 2 has been doing phenomenally well in the international markets too. The film had a record breaking opening of Rs. 294 crores gross worldwide. After earning Rs. 155 crores on Friday, Rs. 172 crores on Saturday and Rs. 208 crores on Sunday, it went onto pass the difficult Monday test as well as it amassed Rs. 93 crores on that day. Despite earning such big numbers, the film sustained well on Tuesday as well as it scored Rs. 80 crores!

The total comes down to an earth-shattering Rs. 1002 crores. Hence, Pushpa 2 has entered the coveted Rs. 1000 crores club. It is rare for films to enter the four figure mark worldwide but the Sukumar directorial has not only achieved that but has managed to do that in a span of a mere six days!

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in important roles.

After an UNIMAGINABLE Monday, which saw a huge push in numbers due to capacity issues over the weekend, Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) normalised to some extent on Tuesday. By normalisation, I mean that the collections weren’t going berserk as they did so far, though by no means this is still anything lesser as the numbers that are coming in are still MINDBLOWING. Even on the sixth day of release, the film is collecting over Rs. 30 crores and that too on a regular working day, which is a record by all means.

The Allu Arjun starrer collected a massive Rs. 36 crores on Tuesday and that’s simply superb. It’s unbelievable that audiences are continuing to flock theatres in such huge numbers and that too when even winters have started. Otherwise, when films don’t work then excuses around weather conditions and post or pre-festival season being usually low start getting thrown around. However, none of that is happening in case of Pushpa 2 (Hindi) as footfalls are coming in lakhs and that’s just insane.

The film will stay on to be over Rs. 30 crores today as well and tomorrow also if it comes close to that then rest assured, we have a second weekend of over Rs. 100 crores coming. So far, the Sukumar directed action family drama has netted Rs. 375 crores, which means it’s now pretty much a given that it will enter Rs. 400 Crore Club today. That would be just inexplicable and one waits to see the makers get ready to pop the champagne pretty soon for Rs. 500 Crore Club entry celebrations.

It was an unimaginable Monday for Pushpa 2: The Rule (Hindi) as a massive Rs. 48 crores came in. Even by the wildest stretch of imagination, one didn’t see this coming as something like this has never happened before. In fact, leave this aside, no film has even come close to this on a regular Monday. Wait, let’s park that as well. Even on a national holiday, Monday has never seen these kind of collections ever.

In that sense, what we are witnessing with the Hindi version of Pushpa 2 is truly unprecedented. On a daily basis new record are being set, and that too by a margin. Monday was no different as the drop from the opening day (Thursday – Rs. 72 crores) is pretty much under control and even if the collections had actually gone half of it (Rs. 36 crores), they would still have been excellent. Instead, we are talking about late 40s here, which means right till the close of the current week, collections will stay more than 50% of Thursday.

The film has now also entered the Rs. 300 Crore Club in record time, what with the collections standing at a massive Rs. 339 crores. In fact, by tomorrow, it would even enter the Rs. 400 Crore Club, which means there would be a new record of first seven days itself going past the Rs. 400 crores mark. Simply unbelievable.
