The Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utrekar, continues its stellar box office run. Released on February 14, 2025, the film opened to a thunderous response, particularly in Maharashtra, where its business skyrocketed over the opening weekend. Riding on the massive wave of appreciation and audience demand, Chhaava quickly raced past the Rs. 100 crore mark in Mumbai alone, firmly establishing its dominance at the box office.

By the end of its first week, Chhaava had not only crossed Rs. 200 crore at the domestic box office but also set its sights on the Rs. 300 crore mark, which trade experts predict could be breached by the end of its second weekend. What makes this feat even more remarkable is the territory-wise breakdown of the film’s collections, highlighting Mumbai’s massive contribution to its overall earnings. From the total domestic earnings of Rs. 249.31 crore, the Mumbai circuit alone contributed Rs. 104.52 crore, making up approximately 41.9% of the film’s total business. This overwhelming share further underscores the film’s tremendous appeal in Maharashtra, given its subject matter centered on the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Following Mumbai, the Delhi-UP circuit emerged as the second-highest contributor, collecting Rs. 36.45 crore, and accounting for 14.6% of the film’s total collections. The film’s business in East Punjab stood at Rs. 19.30 crore, contributing 7.7%, while the Central Punjab region amassed Rs. 12.86 crore, making up 5.2% of the overall earnings. Additionally, Central India raked in Rs. 8.85 crore, contributing 3.6% to Chhaava’s staggering domestic collection.

Being a film rooted in Maratha history, Chhaava was expected to perform exceptionally well in Maharashtra, and it has not only met but surpassed those expectations. The film’s consistent growth in earnings and its widespread appeal across territories indicate that it is far from slowing down. As Chhaava enters its second weekend, trade analysts anticipate a further surge in collections, possibly propelling the film toward the Rs. 300 crore milestone. If the current trend continues, Chhaava could well become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film to date, cementing its place among Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters

It was another huge day for Chhaava as the film ended up staying over Rs. 20 crores mark. The collections have been fantastic right through the weekdays and on Wednesday, they even went over Rs. 30 crores mark. Even if Rs. 18-20 crores come on Thursday, then that would have been superb and here the film is scoring even better.

With Rs. 21.60 crores coming in, the film has now crossed Rs. 225 crores mark in the first week itself. Standing at Rs. 225.28 crores, the historical affair is continuing to be an overdrive and looks like there is so much more that is waiting to be earned. If the film ends up finding itself in Rs. 18-20 crores range today as well, then sky would be the limit for it as the second weekend in Rs. 70-75 crores range would be a given then.

Vicky Kaushal will soon be earning his biggest grosser ever as lifetime total of Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs. 245.36 crores) would be surpassed by tomorrow, if not today itself. From there, Chhaava will continue to go big for many weeks in succession, which means an entry into the Rs. 400 Crore Club is now there for the taking.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. After opening to a thunderous response in Maharashtra, the Laxman Utrekar directorial, which also features Rashmika Mandanna, witnessed exponential growth in business. The film raked in an impressive Rs. 33.10 crore on its opening day, and remarkably, its sixth-day business saw record collections of Rs. 32.40 crore. While a major portion of these earnings have come from Maharashtra, other territories across India have also experienced a significant upswing in collections.

With its spectacular box office performance, Chhaava has already cemented its position as one of Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing films. Currently, the film ranks second among his career’s highest earners, trailing only behind Uri – The Surgical Strike. While Uri – The Surgical Strike remains the actor’s biggest hit with a staggering total collection of Rs. 245.36 crore, Chhaava is rapidly closing in with Rs. 203.68 crore in just six days. This achievement places it far ahead of Raazi, which had a lifetime collection of Rs. 123.84 crore, and Sam Bahadur, which amassed Rs. 92.98 crore. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, a romantic drama that found favour among audiences, had a total collection of Rs. 88 crore, while Bad Newz, despite its strong buzz, managed to reach Rs. 66.28 crore.

Among Kaushal’s previous releases, Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship and Manmarziyaan struggled to achieve similar box office numbers, concluding their runs with Rs. 31.97 crore and Rs. 27.09 crore, respectively. In contrast, Chhaava has demonstrated not only stronger box office appeal but also greater consistency in daily collections, surpassing these previous releases in record time. Given its extraordinary run, Chhaava has now set a new benchmark for Kaushal’s career, solidifying his standing as a bankable star in Bollywood.

With its momentum showing no signs of slowing down, Chhaava is now heading into its second weekend, which is expected to witness another significant surge in business. Trade predictions indicate that if the film maintains its stronghold, it could soon near the Rs. 300 crore mark, making it Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing release ever. As audience demand continues to soar and word-of-mouth remains overwhelmingly positive, Chhaava is on track to break more records in the days ahead.

Vicky Kaushal’s Highest Grossers at a glance: Uri – The Surgical Strike - Rs. 245.36 cr Chhaava - Rs. 203.68 cr Raazi - Rs. 123.84 cr Sam Bahadur - Rs. 92.98 cr Zara Hatke Zara Bachke - Rs. 88 cr Bad Newz  - Rs. 66.28 cr BHOOT: Part One – The Haunted Ship - Rs. 31.97 cr Manmarziyaan - Rs. 27.09 cr

Laxman Utekar’s historical epic Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has created waves at the box office, crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark in just six days. The film, which chronicles the life of Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has been unstoppable, delivering phenomenal numbers across India, with Maharashtra leading the charge.

From the very beginning, Chhaava struck a chord with the audience, and the business in Maharashtra has been nothing short of sensational. The film’s collections skyrocketed on Wednesday (Day 6) with Rs. 32.40 crore, boosted by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday. Impressively, this figure is nearly at par with its Day 1 collection of Rs. 33.10 crore on Valentine’s Day, which is a testament to its strong audience pull and unwavering demand.

While Maharashtra remains Chhaava’s biggest contributor, the film has also gained traction in Rajasthan and West Bengal, where Wednesday’s collections showed a notable increase. The pan-India acceptance of this historical action film indicates its strong hold beyond its core Marathi-speaking audience.

With such an impressive trajectory, Chhaava is expected to continue its dominance at the box office. The film’s ability to maintain such high occupancy levels deep into its first week indicates a long and successful run ahead. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has not only set the box office on fire but has also solidified his position as a top-tier Bollywood star. With Maharashtra driving record-breaking numbers and other territories joining in, Chhaava is well on its way to becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

It was an excellent Tuesday for Chhaava as collections actually grew further over Monday. Today is a holiday in Maharashtra on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti and that pushed the collections in the state. However, even otherwise the drops in other parts of the country were minimal and as a result the overall collections have come out to be higher.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer breached the Rs. 25 crores mark again by bringing in Rs. 25.75 crores and that’s an improvement over Rs. 24.10 crores that had come a day before. The film is anyways playing on very high numbers and this push has only added on to the momentum. In fact, today it won’t be surprising if the film surpasses the Rs. 30 crores mark and that would be simply fantastic as there still would be one more day left for the week to be over.

So far, Chhaava has collected Rs. 171.28 crores and now it will enter Rs. 200 Crore Club today itself. While an entry into the Rs. 300 Crore Club would now be a cakewalk for the film, one waits to see how much further to that would it go in the final run. Indications are that the second weekend would be huge too for Chhaava and if that happens then sky would be the limit for it.

After scoring an excellent weekend, all eyes were on how does Chhaava hold on Monday. After a start of Rs. 33.10 crores on Friday, anything between Rs. 15-20 crores on Monday would have been quite good as well. However, the trending over the weekend, what with Sunday reaching Rs. 49.03 crores, indicated that the even Rs. 20 crores+ on Monday was possible.

Well, this is what happened as Rs. 24.10 crores came on Monday. The film had as it is gone on an overdrive on Sunday and especially with Maharashtra going berserk (pretty much expected too since the film is based there), a lot of spill over audience was expected to walk in as well on Monday. That reflected in huge footfalls for the film which is now a big success in the making. In fact, one can’t pin down a number on where it would be headed for and the real picture would be known on second Friday as the hold then would decide the path that Chhaava is headed for.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer has now collected Rs. 145.53 crores so far and there is so much more that’s still to come for the film in Week One itself. Rs. 200 crores would be crossed this week itself and while Rs. 300 crores lifetime is a given, the journey could well have just begun for the film. This one is a major success for Bollywood.

Laxman Utekar’s historical action drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has taken the box office by storm. The film, which chronicles the life of Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, witnessed a phenomenal start at the ticket windows, posting an extraordinary opening weekend collection of Rs. 121.34 crore.

With Chhaava crossing Rs. 100 crore in just three days, it has emerged as Vicky Kaushal’s fastest film to reach this milestone, surpassing his previous record set by Uri: The Surgical Strike and Raazi. Chhaava has significantly outpaced both Uri and Raazi in terms of speed, achieving in just three days what Uri took ten days and Raazi managed in seventeen. The film’s rapid ascent at the box office further cements Kaushal’s status as a bankable star who can pull audiences across multiple demographics.

Given its strong connection to Maratha history, Chhaava saw an unprecedented surge in Maharashtra. The film’s business in the state has been simply fantabulous, with audiences thronging theatres and houseful shows across cities. The gripping narrative and powerful performances have resonated deeply with the local audience, resulting in a record-breaking box office run. While Maharashtra spearheaded the film’s success, Chhaava also performed impressively in North India. With a strong presence in Hindi-speaking markets, the Vicky Kaushal starrer has solidified its status as one of the biggest openers of the year.

Currently, all eyes are now on its weekday collections to see if it can sustain this phenomenal momentum.

Laxman Utekar's directorial venture, Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has taken the box office by storm, setting new benchmarks for Bollywood releases in 2025. Released on February 14, the historical action film, based on the life of Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, amassed an impressive Rs. 121.43 crore in its opening weekend. Chhaava's performance is particularly noteworthy in Maharashtra, where it has shattered existing records. The film's portrayal of a revered Maratha warrior resonated deeply with local audiences, leading to packed theatres and unprecedented box office figures in the region.

Comparatively, Chhaava has outperformed other major releases of 2025. Akshay Kumar's Sky Force garnered Rs. 73.20 crore in its opening weekend, while Game Changer and Deva collected Rs. 19.95 crore and Rs. 19.43 crore, respectively. Chhaava's Rs. 121.43 crore haul not only surpasses these figures but also establishes it as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year so far. The film's success isn't confined to Maharashtra alone. In North India, Chhaava has posted impressive numbers, with key centers like NCR, Ahmedabad, and Surat witnessing strong occupancies over the weekend. The film's appeal extended to other territories as well, with cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru contributing significantly to its overall earnings.

Looking ahead, Chhaava faces the crucial Monday-to-Thursday period, which will determine its long-term box office trajectory. Maintaining its current momentum could see the film setting further records and solidifying its position as a blockbuster hit.

121.43 crore.

Given its strong connection to Maratha history, Chhaava saw an unprecedented surge in Maharashtra. The film’s business in the state has been simply fantabulous, smashing records left, right, and centre. The overwhelming response in this region has played a major role in driving the film’s stellar performance, with theatres running houseful across major cities. The film’s authentic portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj’s story and its gripping narrative have deeply resonated with the local audience, resulting in an exponential rise in collections.

While Maharashtra spearheaded the film’s success, Chhaava also performed impressively in North India. As the weekend progressed, collections saw a significant spike across the remaining territories, particularly on Sunday, as positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim fuelled audience footfall. With a stronghold in Hindi-speaking markets, the Vicky Kaushal starrer managed to bring in an impressive box office tally, solidifying its status as one of the biggest openers of the year.

Vicky Kaushal, known for his versatile performances, has delivered several box office hits, but Chhaava has far outperformed all his previous films in terms of opening weekend collections. The numbers speak for themselves—Chhaava has outpaced Kaushal’s previous best, Uri: The Surgical Strike, by more than three times, proving that the actor has cemented his position as a bankable box office star. To put this into perspective, Uri—which was regarded as a breakout commercial success for Kaushal—took four days to reach the Rs. 50 crore mark, whereas Chhaava crossed Rs. 100 crore in just three days. Similarly, Raazi, which featured Kaushal in a key supporting role, had a slow and steady rise to success but never touched Chhaava’s record-breaking weekend numbers. Even Bad Newz and Sam Bahadur, which had promising openings, fell short in comparison to Chhaava's massive appeal.

With Chhaava crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark in just three days, its performance in the upcoming Monday-to-Thursday period will be crucial in determining its long-term box office trajectory. If the film manages to maintain its momentum, it is poised to become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year. Given its roaring success in Maharashtra and stronghold in North India, Chhaava has set a new benchmark for historical action films. With a gripping storyline, stellar performances, and powerful visuals, the film is on track for a blockbuster run at the box office. Chhaava has sustained well at the box office on Saturday as it collected Rs. 39.30 crores. The film had taken a very good opening on Friday and since it was also Valentine’s Day, it also acts like a partial holiday of sort. Hence, there is always a risk that after an opening day turning out to be good, there is a drop that comes on the very next day.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen for the Vicky Kaushal starrer and it managed to organically sustain itself as well with footfalls being even better. Since it’s primarily an action film, there is good initial audience coming in as well. However, this Saturday growth has given it good momentum and now one can expect Sunday to be big for sure. In fact, it won’t be surprising if the film actually manages to touch Rs. 45 crores mark today.

The historical affair has now gathered Rs. 72.40 crores and with that the lifetime number of Vicky’s last release Bad Newz (Rs. 66.28 crores) has been surpassed in two days itself. Rashmika Mandana too is on a roll as after Animal and Pushpa 2: The Rule, she has another big grosser coming her way.

February 14, 2025, saw the much-anticipated release of Chhaava, a historical action drama directed by Laxman Utekar. Starring Vicky Kaushal as the legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, the film stormed the box office on its debut, emerging as the highest opening day grosser of the year so far. Chhaava raked in a staggering Rs. 33.10 crore on Day 1, leaving its competition far behind and setting a new benchmark for 2025 releases.

With a powerful narrative adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s celebrated Marathi novel by the same name, Chhava, resonated strongly with audiences, particularly in Maharashtra and other key territories. With an opening that more than doubles the second-best grosser, Sky Force that collected Rs. 15.30 crore, Chhaava has firmly positioned itself as the front-runner in the 2025 box office race. The film’s debut has also surpassed many high-profile releases from previous years, showcasing the enduring appeal of historical sagas when executed with grandeur and authenticity.

Several factors contributed to Chhaava’s historic success, like Vicky Kaushal’s intense performance following his critically acclaimed portrayals in films like Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur, Kaushal’s depiction of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj struck a chord with audiences. Director Laxman Utekar known for films like Mimi and Luka Chuppi, delivered a visually stunning and emotionally gripping tale of valour, coupled with Rashmika Mandanna’s pan-India appeal and of course the film’s historical relevance.

The film opened across a massive number of screens country wide, accompanied by aggressive promotions and positive word-of-mouth. This along with the fact that being a story based on a Maratha warrior, Chhaava opening to a thunderous start within the state of Maharashtra. With theatres going houseful in the state, the business of Chhaava witnessed an exponential windfall from this territory on opening day.

Going forward, with such an impressive opening, Chhaava is expected to maintain its strong momentum through the weekend. If the current trend continues, it may soon enter the Rs. 100 crore club within its first few days.

Highest Opening Day Grossers of 2025 at a glance:

The Vicky Kaushal led Chhaava has recorded a bumper start at the box office in India as the Dinesh Vijan production has opened in the range of Rs. 30 crore to Rs. 32 crore on Valentines Day. The film blew out of proportion in Maharashtra, where it literally faced capacity issues as the evening and night shows arrived.

Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhaava was always expected to do well in Maharashtra, but the biggest plus is the way its performing in North India, as the business picked up tremendously in Delhi NCR and Punjab too as the evening and night shows arrived.

Chhaava has scored the career best opening for Vicky Kaushal and the actor has entered the big league with a 30 crore plus start. The film has also scored the biggest opening till date for a historical actioner.

The film will be looking to hit a century in the opening weekend and then record strong holds on the weekdays owing to a mid week holiday on account of Shivaji Jayanti.

It was yet another good day for Sanam Teri Kasam as the film brought in Rs. 3 crores* more on Tuesday. Drop from Friday is still less than 50%, so that’s fantastic for the film. Also, day on day drop is in control as well which means by the close of week too, the collections will stay on to be around Rs. 2.50 crores.

The film is a success and now the question is that how big it will be in days to come. Chances are that the film will be quite good by the close of its run. Had Valentine’s Day not come in this season then there still may have been some doubts around its overall run. But then this is the perfect day to be falling bang on second Friday and that’s good because first and foremost the word of mouth has already spread around its arrival and secondly, the day resonates well with the interest of youth due to its relevance.

The film has collected Rs. 21.75 crores* already and Rs. 26 crores mark should be crossed by the close of first week. Post that, it all depends upon the kind of elevation that the film gets on Friday. That would be the deciding factor around whether the film will do a lifetime in the vicinity of Rs. 40 crores or would actually go on to hit even Rs. 50 crores mark.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Sanam Teri Kasam has taken an unassailable lead at the box office. The film is now a one-horse race as it’s the first choice of the audiences, and that too by a distance. It first surprised big time when it opened quite well on Friday. However, it was the trend over the weekend that made everyone stand up and notice. The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer collected better and better with every passing day that resulted in Rs. 15.50 crores* being netted.

This also gave a clear indication that Monday hold would be good and that’s what has happened as Rs. 3.25 crores* came in. That’s a superb hold indeed and by far the biggest ever Monday for a re-release. Going by the trends, it will now be the biggest re-release ever too as Tumbbad second run lifetime would be crossed in the second weekend itself.

So far, this Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru directed musical romantic drama has collected Rs. 18.75 crores* already and Rs. 27-28 crores will comfortably come in by close of first week. The real surprise could well come on second Friday, which also happens to be Valentine’s Day. For the youngsters in love, the film would be the first choice by a distance, and it may so happen that the collections on second Friday turn out to be the same (or even better) as the first Friday.

Hit.

Amidst the plethora of record count of re-releases that hit the screens on Friday where Saman Teri Kasam and Interstellar scored the most, two original films arrived in theatres - Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa. Former had opened decently at the box office on Friday while latter had been low. As the weekend progressed, neither of the two films made any huge gains.

The Himesh Reshammiya starrer had opened at Rs. 3.52 crores and though one expected that the collections will increase with every passing day, there wasn’t any elevation, and the weekend came to a close with Rs. 7.77 crores in the film’s kitty. Overall, though the numbers are decent since the film needs just Rs. 15-20 crores to recover its investment and it will reach there eventually due to the opening day.

As for Loveyapa, it should have done better but somehow audiences didn’t step in during the first day and then despite positive word of mouth, the exponential growth that one expected didn’t come in rest of the weekend. Yes, there was growth that resulted in Rs. 4 crores coming in overall. However, what it needs is Monday numbers to match that of Friday, which would have been possible had Saturday and Sunday doubled and tripled over Friday already. One waits to see how the first week numbers turn out to be for the Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor starrer as that would decide how the film enters the Valentine’s week.

As expected, Badass Ravikumar has taken a good opening at the box office. Released on a restricted count of screens and shows, the film saw better occupancy amongst all the films in the fray. Its collections too were best amongst all, be it the new arrivals or old re-releases. As a result, the first day numbers are standing out.

Of course there is a cost factor coming into the equation as well. At the face of it, the first day number of Rs. 3.52 crores may seem just about decent. However, first and foremost majority of films, be it big or small, are struggling to collect even as much. Secondly, and very importantly, the making of the film hasn’t cost much and the music, satellite and OTT rights have taken care of most part of it, which means theatrical business is an added bonus.

The Himesh Reshmamiya film should manage a weekend of around Rs. 12-13 crores from here and that would be enough to allow it to sail through. Back in time when his biggest success so far, The Exposé had released, it had collected Rs. 2.97 crores on its first day with a lifetime of Rs. 22.77 crores. While the first day numbers have already been surpassed, the lifetime too should be taken care of by Badass Ravikumar.

Himesh Reshammiya starrer Badass Ravi Kumar - the 80s style entertainer has surpassed all previous expectations and opened in the range of Rs. 4.25 crores to Rs. 4.75 crores, as against the earlier predictions of Rs. 1.25 crore from all the leading players. The film has taken a start due to the strong impact created by the trailer coupled with a superhit song in the form of Taj Mahal.

The film is made at a minimal cost of Rs. 21 crores, and the makers have already recovered the amount with music rights and subsidies. The theatrical revenue, along with the revenue generated by the sale of satellite and digital rights will be all profit for Himesh Reshammiya. The film is valued at Rs. 15 crore for digital and satellite rights, whereas the theatrical revenue is also expected to be in the north of Rs. 10 crore, which is phenomenal.

The best part about Badass Ravi Kumar is the fact that the opening is organic without any malpractices. The film has toppled the second release of the week, Loveyapa by a margin, as the Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor starrer has opened around the Rs. 1 crore mark.

The Himesh Reshammiya-led Badass Ravi Kumar is on a roll, as the action-packed entertainer has sold 30,000 tickets across the Top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis - as of Thursday at 5 PM. The film is headed to sell over 45,000 tickets in the national chains.

The film is looking like the biggest surprise of 2025, and the advance bookings are a result of the trailer hitting the bullseye, followed by a super hit song in the form of Taj Mahal. The film is scoring better than its competition, Loveyapa, which has sold 4500 tickets as on 5 PM on Thursday.

The first day of Badass Ravi Kumar is expected to be around the Rs 5 crore mark, which is fantastic for a film made on a mere budget of Rs 20 crore.

Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar re-release has taken a flying start in advance bookings, leaving every other film in its wake. As of Thursday morning at 10 AM, Interstellar has sold a staggering 48,900 tickets across the top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. The film has benefitted from premium pricing due to weekend rates, pulling in strong demand from cinephiles eager to revisit the epic on the big screen. This strong momentum is expected to continue, making it the clear winner among the ongoing re-releases.

Meanwhile, Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar is running neck to neck with the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam, selling 16,300 tickets against STK’s 16,400 tickets in the national chains. While the difference is negligible, Badass Ravi Kumar is expected to maintain steady sales due to its mass appeal and action-packed entertainment factor. On the other hand, Sanam Teri Kasam has seen decent traction, driven by its cult following and the attractive ₹149 ticket pricing.

However, the real disappointment is Loveyapa, which is struggling to make any impact at the box office. With just 1,475 tickets sold in advance bookings, the romantic drama has been completely overshadowed by the competition. To put things into perspective, Badass Ravi Kumar has sold over 10x more tickets than Loveyapa, making this an outright box office embarrassment for the latter. The poor response suggests that Loveyapa is unlikely to see any major pick-up closer to release and looks set for a forgettable run at the box office.

The Himesh Reshammiya-led Badass Ravi Kumar has taken decent start in the advance bookings at all India level. As on the data set received on Wednesday morning at 9 AM, Badass Ravikumar has sold around 3,200 tickets across the Top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis - for the opening day alone.

The advances for Badass Ravi Kumar opened on Tuesday evening and the film has managed to organically sell over 3000 tickets in less than 12 hours. The advance is a result of the solid interest generated by the trailer, as the viewers seem to be stepping in for unabashed entertainment. If the momentum in advance booking continues, Badass Ravi Kumar could sell around 40,000 tickets in the national chains alone, and open around the Rs. 5 crore mark, which will be a phenomenal result for the Himesh Reshammiya film.

The second release of the week, Loveyapa is struggling in pre-sales at the box office in India. The film has sold 150 tickets across the top 3 national chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis - which is around 5 percent of Badass Ravikumar. The gap could widen further as the spoof factor seems to be working in a big way for Ravikumar, and the remake factor is working against Loveyapa.

These are still early days, but one can conclude with ease that Badass Ravi Kumar is the winner of this box office clash already.
