Ishq Vishk Rebound Box Office: Film sees some growth, Munjya is terrific on Saturday

Ishq Vishk Rebound managed some growth on Saturday as Rs. 1.50 crore came in. On Friday the film had opened to Rs. 1.20 crore and that was a fair number on expected lines. Since the film has seen a limited release, anything over Rs. 1 crore would have given it a chance to consolidate from this point on. Of course, had the first day been Rs. 1.50 crore then Saturday and Sunday would have gone over the Rs. 2 crores mark. For now, all eyes are on whether this mark is reached today since growth from Friday to Saturday is there, but a bigger jump would have been better.

A film with primarily newcomers, Ishq Vishk Rebound is one of the rare romcoms to be arriving in theatres and catering to the youth. There was Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya that came earlier this year, but it was more of a love story with seasoned actors and a far more complicated plot. Ishq Vishk Rebound is far simpler and is more of a popcorn entertainer for teenagers. Hence, its costs too are controlled accordingly. However, theatrical business has its own charm and while it has collected Rs. 2.70 crores so far, one waits to see its eventual lifetime business.

Meanwhile Munjya has been doing terrific business in its third weekend as well, what with Rs. 5.80 crores coming on Saturday. This is far ahead of its opening day collections of Rs. 4.21 crores which goes on to show how well it has been accepted by the audiences. Moreover, growth from Friday [Rs. 3.31 crores] to Saturday [Rs. 5.80 crores] is very good too and while Rs. 6.50 crores will comfortably come in today, a stretch towards Rs. 7 crores would be excellent. That would be a difficult score but the film would aim for that and consolidate over Rs. 80.11 crores it has got so far.
