Box Office: Fukrey 3 does quite well, Jawan is fantastic, Rs. 100 crores come in the week gone by

It was yet another fantastic week gone by as more than Rs. 100 crores came in. While Fukrey 3 contributed with Rs. 66 crores (albeit with one extra day as it was a Thursday release), Jawan further brought in over Rs. 34 crores in just the Hindi version. In the good times that the industry has been enjoying for last few months this now, it’s heartening to see bountiful of collections coming in week after week.

It’s good to see how Fukrey 3 has sustained momentum right through its extended first week of 8 days. In fact, even on Thursday it stayed over the Rs. 3 crores mark, and that’s good considering Friday numbers were Rs. 7.82 crores. Yes, had it been around Rs. 4 crores then an entry into the Rs. 100 Crore Club would have been guaranteed but now it would need to be wait and watch, depending upon the second weekend.

As for Jawan, it’s continuing to collect bonus numbers and that too in a major way. The film was fantastic in the fourth week as well and that has pushed the overall total to Rs. 560 crores* in the Hindi version. The film was just a little below Rs. 2 crores mark on Thursday and now there would be good momentum all over between today and Sunday. The film is set to cross Rs. 585 crores lifetime and if there is greater stability over next couple of weeks then it can even get into that Rs. 595 crores range. All time mega blockbuster.
