Gadar 2 Box Office: Sunny Deol starrer to become the 7th Bollywood movie of 2023 to reach Rs. 100 crore, the film achieves the feat in just 3 days
It was a forgetful 2022 for Bollywood with only a handful of films attaining success at the box office. Thankfully for the industry, 2023 has been faring much better and for this, filmmaker Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 is also largely responsible. The Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Manish Wadhwa starrer released on Friday August 11 and it instantly created a bang at the box office.
The film opened at a mammoth number of Rs. 40.10 crores. It received further jump on Saturday when it earned Rs. 43.08 crores. With above Rs. 83 crores already in its kitty, Gadar 2 has now managed to draw in a further Rs. 51.70 cr on its third day running, entertain the Rs. 100 Crores Club today, with a collection of Rs. 134.88 cr. This is a phenomenal number for any film, more so if it has clashed with another film; Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 in this case.
With this, Gadar 2 will become the 7th Bollywood movie of 2023 to cross the Rs. 100 crores mark. The rest of the films of this year to achieve this feat include, Pathaan, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, The Kerala Story, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Adipurush and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
What makes Gadar 2’s feat more incredible is that it will reach the three figure mark in just three days, just like the Prabhas starrer Adipurush. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan did that in just two days. Hence, the Sunny Deol starrer is just the third film of 2023 to reach the Rs. 100 crores mark in three days.
