The Kerala Story Box Office: Film has an excellent weekend, all eyes on the weekdays hold now

The Kerala Story has done the unthinkable. Tt has scored one of the biggest weekends so far in 2023 and is next only to Khan starrers Pathaan and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Unbelievable, but true. The others in the list are Tu Jhoothi  Main Makkaar and Bholaa, and these two are also led by major superstars like Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn. However, the Adah Sharma starrer has arrived and given competition to these biggies which shows how well has the film been performing at the box office.

This can well be seen from the way the conversion drama went on to see further increase in footfalls on Sunday, hence resulting in Rs. 16 crores* been accumulated. This is without any IMAX, 3D or 4DX version, and not even inflated prices for the regular 2D version (something that most Bollywood biggies do). The collections have been on regular priced tickets and in a regular format, which further shows that the footfalls are simply amazing for this Vipul Shah production.

Wait, there is more. The Sudipto Sen directed film hasn't been aided by any holiday factor either, and there is no chartbuster song pushing its case through either. As a result, the Rs. 35 crores* weekend of the film has its price worth in gold and to think of it, there is a lot more that's expected to come by. The job has already been done for The Kerala Story which is a super-hit post its opening weekend itself. Now all eyes are on the sustainability that the film manages to have during the weekdays as that should take it to that blockbuster zone as well.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
