Box Office: Vikram Vedha stays over Rs. 5 cr mark on Tuesday, PS-1 [Hindi] aims for lifetime of over Rs. 20 cr
Vikram Vedha had yet another day of over Rs. 5 crores as Rs. 5.50 crores* came on Tuesday. Ideally, the collections should have been in Rs. 8-10 crores range for a pre-Dussehra day. More so, since there is no competition either. However, since the film is working only in pockets where collections are divided between multiplexes and single screens with none really seeing flourishing business, the makers have to make do with what’s coming their way.
The good news is that at least the collections haven’t fallen. On Monday the numbers stood at Rs. 5.39 crores so from that aspect the kind of numbers that are coming in indicate that there is some sort of appreciation amongst select set of audiences. Still, for a film which was universally appreciated from the critical standpoint, it certainly deserved better. The Saif Ali Khan-Hrithik Roshan starrer currently stands at Rs. 47.83 crores* and should go past the Rs. 60 crores mark by the close of first week. Post that it would be about gaining as much to surpass Rs. 80 crores.
Meanwhile, PS-1 is aiming for a lifetime of over Rs. 20 crores after last few steady days. Otherwise, after the first day numbers of Rs. 1.85 crores, it didn’t really seem possible. Reason being that this year so many movies have opened similar and ended in Rs. 15-20 crores range. However, in its own little way this south dubbed release is gaining traction which is ensuring steady footfalls. It was seen on Tuesday as well which was similar to Monday with Re. 1.50 crores* coming in. Standing at Rs. 10.50 crores*, the Mani Ratnam film should have first week of 13-14 crores.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
