Brahmastra Box Office: There is no stopping the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer; biggie registers blockbuster collections on Saturday

Onwards and upwards, that's how the journey of Brahmastra is turning out to be, what with the collections moving up from Rs. 36 crores on Friday to Rs. 41.50 crores on Sunday. This includes the south versions as well. The film had already defied all odds on Friday when it saw an excellent opening for itself and whatever little bit of negativity that was left out was taken care of by the audiences when they came in huge numbers on Saturday as well.

Agreed that advance booking had a major role to play in Saturday footfalls but still the current booking was more as well in comparison to Friday which was truly a heartening sign. That showed that how the film has caught fancy of the audiences and with Sunday already looking fantastic, yet another awesome day of over 40 crores is on the cards. To think of it, the film is near three hour long which means despite having released at 5000 screens, the count of shows could well be akin to a two hour long film releasing on 4000-4500 screens. Still, the kind of collections that are coming in are amongst the best of the best, which pretty much tells the tale. In fact Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju had managed a Rs. 40 crores+ total only on Sunday [Rs. 46.71 crores] and here the film has netted pretty close to that on Saturday itself. Will it cross Sanju's Sunday total as well today? Looks difficult but it would all be pretty closely tracked.

So far, the Ayan Mukherji directed film has collected Rs. 77.50 crores already and while Tiger Zinda Hai weekend of Rs. 114.93 mcrores should be comfortably surpassed today, the challenge would be with Rs. 120.06 crores total that was scored by none other than Ranbir Kapoor's own Sanju [Rs. 120.06 crores]. Amongst Bollywood films, the Rajkumar Hirani directed film holds the record for the first three day collections and now the Karan Johar production could well be taking this number heads on.
