Liger Overseas Box Office: Film crosses 500k USD on Day 1 at the North America box office

The heavily promoted Dharma Productions venture Liger starring South sensation Vijay Deverakonda and youth icon Ananya panday hit screens this week. However, in the international market, Liger released earlier on Wednesday. Said to be a sports drama that boasts of insane action and Mike Tyson, the film opened on a good note. In fact, at the North America box office, Liger has taken off to a decent start with opening day collections crossing the USD 500K mark.

Collecting USD 482,339 [Rs. 3.85 cr.] from the U.S.A box office and a further USD 22,776 [Rs. 18.19 lakhs] at the Canada box office, the total collections of Liger at the North America box office are currently pegged at USD 505,115 [Rs. 4.03 cr.]. Interestingly, the film has managed to achieve this on its first day itself, raising hopes that the overall business of the film will see further growth.

Currently, Liger that has received mixed reviews continues to run in theatres, with little to no competition the business of Liger in the overseas and domestic market is expected to benefit greatly. In fact, trade predictions paint a rather optimistic picture of the film’s collections.
