After initial bump, domestic collections of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 drop; Worldwide box office inches towards Rs 300 crore

While Salman Khan headliner Tiger 3 had a great opening at the box office, the film’s collections seem to have dipped by over 50 per cent by the middle of the week.

The Maneesh Sharma directorial opened on Sunday at Rs 44.50 crore, followed by impressive numbers on Monday (Rs 59.25 crore) and Tuesday (Rs 44.75 crore). However, on Wednesday there was a major dip in the collections and the film amassed Rs 21.25 crore. Thursday came with another drop to Rs 18.50 crore.

The film’s domestic collection now stands at Rs 188.25 crore nett. As per reports, the film’s gross worldwide collection is at Rs 293.91 crore.

Still, the film is one of the highest grossers for lead actor Salman in recent times. His last release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan had a short run at the box office at Rs 110.53 crore.

Tiger 3 is the fifth film in YRF's spy universe, which includes Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019) and Pathaan(2023).

Apart from Salman Khan, the film also features Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi, and Riddhi Dogra in prominent roles.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Tiger 3 opened to mixed to positive reception. The CE review of the film reads, “The central plotline of Tiger 3 has the metatext of the Congress-era Aman Ki Aasha sentimentality. There are tired themes of Pakistan being bad but not Pakistanis, of choosing democracy over dictatorship. Noble thoughts served without novelty. It seems like the makers have casually assembled a bunch of run-of-the-mill spy film set-pieces and tried to balance it on simplistic politics."
