Karan Johar's Yodha to release a week early

The release date of Karan Johar's Yodha has been advanced by a week. The Sidharth Malhotra headliner, which was earlier supposed to be released on December 15, will now hit theatres on December 8, 2023.

The film, which was earlier clashing with Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas, will still be face to face with the thriller at the box office since the Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif starrer's release has also been preponed to December 8.

Earlier, indirectly commenting on the clash, Karan had taken to his threads account and had written, "Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don't stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile…”

Yodha was earlier scheduled to release on July 7 and the date was postponed to December 15. Now, finally, the film is releasing on December 8.

Directed by debutant duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, Yodha also stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.

The film is presented by Amazon and Dharma in partnership with Shashank Khaitan's Mentor Disciple Films. Dharma Productions had also backed the war biopic Shershaah starring Sidharth. A poster of Yodha was earlier released. It depicted Sidharth aiming a gun in combat gear, with bruises and cuts on his hands and face.

Meanwhile, Sidharth was last seen in Mission Majnu co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. He is also gearing up for the release of Rohit Shetty's web series Indian Police Force.
