Director Nikkhil Advani remembers ‘dangerous’ sequence while shooting Mumbai Diaries S2
Season 2 of Mumbai Diaries released recently on Amazon Prime Video. Director and creator Nikkhil Advani, while sharing his experience of shooting the latest season, spoke about how they executed a ‘dangerous’ sequence involving actor Konkana Sen Sharma.
“We had quite a shooting experience this season,” he says. “The set had scaffolding everywhere and one of the particular scenes involved Konkona being trapped in a flooded room. To ensure that she had something to hold onto, we strapped her to the scaffolding. And while we were inside the room, shooting and filling it up with water, we didn’t realize the amount of pressure it was exerting on the walls.”
“We had to jump out of the set as the walls were beginning to give away,” he adds. “All in all, it was all cool and full of adventure, surely making it a fun shooting experience too.”
Apart from Konkona, the show also stars Mohit Raina, Shreya Dhanwantary, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Tina Desai, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ridhi Dogra and Prakash Belawadi in pivotal roles. The eight-episode series is a medical drama about staff of the Bombay General Hospital dealing with floods. The series premiered on October 6 and is currently streaming on Prime Video.
