Karan Johar’s Love Storiyaan trailer out
The trailer of the anthology series Love Storiyaan was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the series is conceptualised by Somen Mishra along with Karan Johar.
Each of the episodes in the six-part series are told through the lens of a different director –Akshay Indikar, Archana Phadke, Collin D’Cunha, Hardik Mehta, Shazia Iqbal, and Vivek Soni – each of whom bring their own personal touch to the story.
The trailer opens up with Karan Johar inviting audiences to explore the meaning of love with these real stories and goes on to introduce the real-life couples and give a glimpse into their journey.
The films that are part of the anthology are:
Raah Sangharsh Ki, directed by Akshay Indikar
“It has been an exhilarating journey to capture Rahul and Subhadra’s story in Raah Sangharsh Ki. My own background and experiences allowed me to connect to their story at a personal level. Their narrative exemplifies how love sometimes requires the courage to stand up against societal expectations and norms,” said Akshay.
Faasle, directed by Archana Phadke
“With Faasley I really wanted to understand a love that is resilient, a love that travels across time, across continents, against different forces to survive. In that, I found Dhanya and Homayon’s story, who protected their love against all odds,” said Archana.
Love Beyond Labels, directed by Collin D’Cunha
“It was very exciting for me to delve into Tista and Dipan's extraordinary love story, which celebrates courage and bravery, and how their transformative journey brought them together. Love Beyond Labels is about defying societal prejudices while preserving their true selves,” said Collin.
A Unsuitable Girl, directed by Hardik Mehta
“I was absolutely moved by Aekta and Ullekh's endearing love story and what stood out most for me was how in a country like India, love is not always between two people but is also omnipresent in daily lives of all family members,” said Hardik.
Homecoming, directed by Shazia Iqbal
“Through Farida and Sunit’s love story, my co-director Rahul and I explored the intricate nature of romantic relationships, which often defy the simplicity portrayed on screen,” said Shazia. “As we travelled with Farida and Sunit through the charming landscape of Bangladesh, we knew we are making something unique, and their Homecoming will inspire generations to come.”
Love On Air, directed by Vivek Soni
“Meeting Nicholas and Rajani for our anthology was an extraordinary experience,” said Vivek. “My intention was to go beyond filmmaking; to connect with the couple and traverse, along with them, their journey thus far, and it was truly beautiful.”
Love Storiyaan will stream on Prime Video from February 14.
