Vikas Bahl on Ganapath’s Ladakh shoot: Weather was unfriendly, there was dip in oxygen levels
Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon are soon coming up with the futuristic actioner Ganapath. Parts of the film, including some action sequences, have been shot in Ladakh.
Talking about their shooting time in the northernmost state, director Vikas Bahl revealed that at times the weather conditions were erratic and there were oxygen troubles but Tiger and Kriti, soldiered on.
“It was an abandoned town above Lamayuru (a village in Leh) where most sequences were shot. So yes, the weather conditions were unfriendly and erratic, with constant dips in oxygen levels. But Tiger and Kriti really practised hard on days off as well as in between action scenes, in spite of the challenging weather conditions and low oxygen levels,” he said.
“Our base was far from the actual shoot locations, but the entire crew was very supportive and hands-on, as it was not easy shifting equipment, costumes, props, etc. from one terrain to another. So yes, we did manage to pull off a really difficult shoot well because we had a great team,” he added.
Apart from Tiger and Kriti, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Set in a dystopian future, Ganapath revolves around its eponymous messiah, who is born to “bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.” The film, produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Vikas Bahl, is scheduled to release on October 20.
