Manoj Bajpayee's Joram to hit the theatres in December

Earlier, we had reported that actor Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Joram, helmed by Devashish Makhija, had been selected for the Busan Film Festival in the 'A Window in Asian Cinema' category. It has now been learned that the film will hit worldwide cinemas in December via Zee Studios.

Joram, which was previously screened at the Durban International Film Festival, won the Best Actor Award for Manoj Bajpayee and the Best Cinematography Award for Piyush Puty. The film also had its premiere in various other festivals, including Rotterdam, Sydney and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Produced by Zee Studios and Makhijafilm, Joram also features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rajshri Deshpande.

Joram is a psychological thriller about a hunted, displaced man who is on the run to protect his daughter. The film also deals with issues such as social inequalities, injustice within the tribal communities and deforestation. Describing the film as an "emotionally-charged survival thriller", Devashish had earlier said, "It's a story of a tribal man being chased by powerful forces who want him dead. He has to stay on the run to keep his infant daughter alive."
