25 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Shah Rukh Khan says ‘let the young ones do love stories now’

Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completed 25 years on Monday. Ahead of the occasion, a special screening for the film was held at a PVR in Mumbai on Sunday evening, which was attended by Karan and the film’s leads Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji.

At the event, Shah Rukh spoke about the importance of the film in their lives. He also talked about whether he has any plans of doing a love story in the future.

Is film ka humare liye bahut hi important makaam hai humari zindagi mein, humare dilo mein. Aap log thoda bahut samajhte ho, pura nahi samjhoge kyunki kuch kuch hota hai (this film is a very important milestone in our lives and in our hearts. You people understand this to some extent but you cannot understand it fully because there is something that happens),” he said.

He further said, “Ab pata nahi love story karu ya nahi karu, ab jawan bachcho ko karne do (now I don't know if I should still do a love story, let's leave them for younger actors).”

Director Karan also shared a video compilation of iconic scenes from the film on Instagram. He captioned the post, “25 years ago is where it all began…and here we are today celebrating not just a film but an EMOTION for me and from all the love we get for it, I gather it is for everyone too…
Thank you for showering unending love for this tale of pyaar & dosti till today and thank you for marking my journey as a filmmaker for 25 years with such warmth. I will eternally be grateful to the people I am fortunate to work with, to the people I meet who watch my films and to the magic of MOVIES.”
