Sukhee trailer: Shilpa Shetty Kundra escapes household mundanity

The trailer of Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s upcoming film Sukhee was unveiled by the makers today. The comic chick-flick, directed by Sonal Joshi in her debut, also stars Kusha Kapila, Dilnaz Irani, Pavleen Gujral, Chaitannya Choudhry and Amit Sadh.

The trailer introduces us to the mundane life of homemaker Sukhpreet ‘Sukhee’ Kalra (Shilpa Shetty). Her life revolves around taking care of her husband (played by Chaitannya Choudhry) and her daughter. Desperate to break out the monotony, Sukhee decides to attend her school reunion after 20 years. Against her husband’s wishes, she goes to Delhi and meets her loud friend (Kusha Kapila). The trailer shows glimpses of how the reunion goes and how Sukhee’s husband and her daughter deal through household chores while she is away. The trailer ends with a rather cheeky note and shows a bunch of men complaining about the number of women empowerment films being made. “Every film has the same story,” they say.

Sukhee is produced by the makers Sherni, Chhorii and Jalsa, T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. It releases in theatres on September 22.
