Fukrey 3 opens with Rs 8.50 crore, surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan first day
Fukrey 3 had a good opening at the box office. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film made Rs 8.50 crore on Thursday, which was more than Jawan’s Rs 5.50 crore on the same day. Currently Jawan’s nett domestic collection stands at Rs 581.43 crore.
Fukrey 3 released alongside Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War which managed to rake in only Rs 1.3 crore on its opening day.
The second part of the Fukrey franchise, Fukrey Returns, released in 2017, and collected Rs 8.10 crore at the box office on its opening day, as per Bollywood Hungama. The film eventually made Rs 80.32 crore during its theatrical run. Fukrey (2013) could only manage Rs 36.5 crore during its theatrical run.
Fukrey 3 stars Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh and Varun Sharma. It is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who also helmed the previous two films. Ali Fazal, who was part of the earlier two films, gave the third part a miss.
