Fukrey 3 trailer: Varun Sharma’s Choocha faces off in an election against Richa Chadha’s Bholi Punjaban

The trailer of Fukrey 3 was released by the makers today. The film will see Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh reprise their roles of Pandit ji, Bholi Punjaban, Hunny, Choocha and Laali respectively.

The trailer opens with a scene from Fukrey (2013) in which Hunny and Choocha were being reprimanded by their school teacher. Flash forward to 2023 and the two are being felicitated in the same school, but Choocha, during his speech, goes a bit TMI leading to Hunny and Pandit ji being embarrassed. Going forward, we see Bholi Punjaban is standing for a local election. To prevent her from winning, Hunny, Pandit Ji and Laali decide that Choocha should contest too. The rest of the trailer shows how the slackers raise funds and devise ways for Choocha to win against Bholi. The trailer is filled with jokes and jibes and maybe a lot of poop humour.

The entire Fukrey gang is reuniting for the third part in the series except Ali Fazal as Zafar bhai. Explaining his departure from Fukrey 3, Ali had earlier said in a statement, "So Zafar aayega ya nahi? Sab yahi puch rahe hain baar baar.sorry saathiyon, iss baari nahi! Zafar bhai ko kabhi kabhi Guddu bhaiya bhi banna padhta hai. Aur do universes overlap ho jaate hain kabhi kabhi. (So is Zafar coming or not? Everyone is asking this again and again. Sorry friends, not this time! Zafar bhai has to sometimes become Guddu Bhaiya (in Mirzapur). And the two universes get overlapped."

Ali said that he would have liked to be a part of Fukrey 3 but the timing and schedules didn't work out. He assured he will be back in the franchise after a small detour. 

"Once a fukra always a fukra so i am around.  . . But I won’t be coming on screen for the third outing of the Fukras, Bholi and Panditji! I would have wanted to be part of it but time and schedules didn’t allow me to.  I will be back in the future at some juncture, maybe sooner than you expect. Zafar will be back after a small detour to entertain you guys!” he had written.

Fukrey 3 is directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, who also helmed the first two parts in the franchise. The film is backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. It is releasing in theatres on September 28.
