The Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. film with Ayan Mukerji is finally showing some strength in advance booking in Hindi. After a rather average run in advance booking, the film has finally shown growth with healthy results in hourly sales. With over 1 and a half days still to go, War 2 has sold approximately 60,000 tickets across the top 3 national chains, and is expected to cross the 1 lakh mark by the end of this day.

The advance bookings are nowhere close to expectations, but this spike in ticket sales keeps War 2 in the race to have a shot at the final advance booking of Saiyaara, Chhaava, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Singham Again. Feature films like Tiger 3, Brahmastra, Animal, KGF 2, Jawan, and Pathaan are out of the league for this Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. film.

To everyone's shock, the final advances of War 2 will also be lower than War 1, a scenario which no one could have imagined. The experts pegged the first day of War 2 at Rs. 50 to 60 crores, but now the film is headed for a start of Rs. 35 crores in Hindi, unless there is a change of tide in the next two days.

There is a big Independence Day holiday, so War 2 will be hoping to see big jumps on Friday based on strong audience word of mouth to make up for the loss of business on Day 1.

In an exceptional turn of events rarely witnessed in modern box office trends, Mahavatar Narsimha has continued to defy conventional collection patterns, recording an impressive jump in business on its third weekend. While most films see a natural drop after their opening frame — and certainly by the third week — this animated epic has rewritten the rules, drawing even bigger crowds as the weeks go by.

The film opened with a promising Weekend 1 total of Rs. 12.11 cr, backed by strong word of mouth and critical praise for its storytelling, visuals, and emotional depth. What followed was nothing short of remarkable — in its second weekend, Mahavatar Narsimha saw collections skyrocket to Rs. 32.82 cr, a phenomenal +171.02% increase, signalling that audiences were not just curious but fully invested in the cinematic experience.

However, the real box office marvel came in Weekend 3. Instead of slowing down, the film’s momentum only grew stronger, clocking an astounding Rs. 38.96 cr, marking a further +18.71% jump over its already record-breaking second weekend. This trend places Mahavatar Narsimha in a rare league of films that manage to expand their audience base week after week, largely thanks to exceptional word-of-mouth publicity and repeat viewings.

Trade experts point out that such growth is indicative of a film transcending its genre limitations. As an animated release, Mahavatar Narsimha initially faced skepticism about its mass appeal. Yet, its blend of spiritual themes, breathtaking animation, and a compelling emotional core has resonated deeply with a wide demographic — from young children to older audiences.

With this third-weekend surge, Mahavatar Narsimha not only cements its status as one of the year’s most extraordinary box office stories but also sets a benchmark for how strong content can drive sustained theatrical success. If this trajectory continues, the film could be on track to challenge some of the most unexpected blockbusters in recent memory.

It’s clear that Mahavatar Narsimha is no longer just a film — it has become an experience audience are actively recommending, revisiting, and celebrating, making it a textbook example of how quality storytelling can defy industry expectations.

Indian cinema has witnessed yet another box office milestone with Mahavatar Narsimha storming its way into the coveted list of the Top 10 highest-grossing Hindi dubbed releases of all time. In a feat few anticipated, the animated mythological epic has outperformed the record once held by the pioneering blockbuster Baahubali – The Beginning, closing its second week at an impressive Rs. 123.40 crore.

With this achievement, Mahavatar Narsimha now ranks ninth on the all-time chart, pushing Baahubali – The Beginning (Rs. 118.70 crore) to the tenth spot. The list remains dominated by mega South Indian blockbusters that have transcended language barriers—led by Pushpa 2 – The Rule at Rs. 830.10 crore, followed by Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (Rs. 510.99 crore) and KGF – Chapter 2 (Rs. 434.70 crore).

What makes Mahavatar Narsimha’s entry into this elite club especially noteworthy is that it is the first animated film to do so, breaking through a space traditionally dominated by high-octane live-action spectacles. Its seamless blend of cutting-edge animation technology, rich mythological storytelling, and mass appeal has struck a rare balance—pulling in family audiences, animation enthusiasts, and fans of mytho-epic narratives alike.

Trade experts credit the film’s longevity to strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewings, a phenomenon typically reserved for cultural phenomena like RRR or Baahubali 2. “The collections are extraordinary not just because it’s an animated film, but because it has competed directly with live-action event films and held its own,” notes one leading distributor.

Currently, the Top 10 Hindi dubbed releases list reads as follows: Pushpa 2 – The Rule (Rs. 830.10 cr), Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (Rs. 510.99 cr), KGF – Chapter 2 (Rs. 434.70 cr), Kalki 2989 AD (Rs. 294.25 cr), RRR (Rs. 274.31 cr), 2.0 (Rs. 189.55 cr), Salaar (Rs. 153.84 cr), Saaho (Rs. 142.95 cr), Mahavatar Narsimha (Rs. 123.40 cr), and Baahubali – The Beginning (Rs. 118.70 cr).

As Mahavatar Narsimha continues its theatrical run, it stands as both a cultural and commercial breakthrough—proving that animated cinema, when executed with scale, vision, and emotional depth, can command the same box office gravitas as the most celebrated live-action blockbusters. Its success may well redefine the future landscape of Indian animation, inspiring studios to dream—and invest—bigger.

Top 10 All-Time Highest Hindi dubbed releases Pushpa 2 - The Rule - Rs. 830.10 cr. Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion - Rs. 510.99 cr. KGF - Chapter 2 - Rs. 434.70 cr. Kalki 2989 AD - Rs. 294.25 cr. There is no stopping Mahavatar Narsimha. The film has been defying expectations with every passing day and is collecting more than double of the total of all the other films in the running. It’s a one film show all the way with only Saiyaara being at the second spot, though far away. Otherwise no other holdover or new release is able to collect even 25% of it, which pretty much tells the tale.

This was seen on Sunday as well when the film went on rampage all over again and brought in a mammoth Rs. 17.41 crores more. Last Sunday, the film had brought in Rs. 16.27 crores and this Sunday the collections have gone up, which is remarkable. All of this also ensures that between now and Thursday, at least Rs. 10 crores more will be added to the total, hence taking it past Rs. 135 crores.

So far, the film has collected Rs. 123.40 crores and there is so much steam still left in it. In fact, if not for War 2 and Coolie arriving, it could well have aimed for that 200 crores lifetime as well but for now 175 crores is still there for the taking and that would be out of the world as well.

The most awaited film of 2025, War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr. and Kiara Advani has taken an average start in advance bookings across the national multiplex chains. The YRF Spy Universe film is expected to sell approximately 22,000 tickets in the national multiplex chains on the first day of the advance booking. PVR Inox has sold 17,000 tickets, whereas Cinepolis has sold 5,000 tickets.

Talking of 2025, the advance booking of NTR Jr. and Hrithik Roshan's War 2 is slower than the last YRF release - Saiyaara too. For those unaware, Saiyaara had sold 34,000 tickets on the first day of advance booking. The bookings are lower than Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava too, which had sold 27,000 tickets on the first day of tickets going on sale.

The start is below expectations, as films like Pathaan and Jawan had sold over 1 lakh tickets on the first day, whereas Tiger 3 and Animal also sold 55,000 plus and 45,000 tickets on the first day of advance booking. The silver lining in this advance booking is in the fact that the sales are marginally higher than Hrithik's last release, Fighter.

With three days to go, and strong competition from Coolie, it would be exciting to see the movement in advance booking of War 2 in the days to come.

Mahavatar Narsimha is continuing with its extraordinary run at the box office. While last Saturday, Rs. 11.25 crores came in, this Saturday the collections jumped all the more as not just the film entered double digit zone, it actually came close to second Sunday collections of Rs. 16.27 crores. It’s one thing for a film to keep its fantastic business running on a continuous basis and another when the collections keep growing on a week on week basis without any break whatsoever.

No wonder, with business jumping to more than triple when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 4.70 crores, the film ended up netting Rs. 15 crores more which is only justifying its blockbuster run all the more. The film is not slowing down at all and rest assured, there would be excellent numbers all over again today too as it builds on top of Rs. 104.14 crores that it has collected so far.

Last week, the film had moved up to Rs. 16.27 crores on Sunday and that too with Saiyaara going so strong and new releases Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 occupying a large number of screens. There is no such competition this week which means Mahavatar Narsimha would be aiming to go past Rs. 120 crores by the close of third weekend.

Rajinikanth is on a roll as his August 14 release, Coolie has taken the box office by storm all across the globe. With 4 days to go, Coolie has recorded an advance booking of Rs. 37 crores ($4.3 million) at the overseas box office, making it one of the highest of all time for a film of Indian origin. This is with 4 days to go, and overseas advance of Coolie could go as high as Rs. 55 crores by Wednesday.

Its competitor, War 2 meanwhile, is left far behind as far as international business is concerned. With 4 days to go, the Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. film has clocked an advance of Rs. 5.50 crores in the overseas belt. The YRF film is trailing behind War 2 internationally by a humongous margin of Rs. 32 crores and the gap could just get wider in the days to come.

Globally, Coolie has scored advance booking of Rs. 50 crores, and the film is looking to scale new heights in the days to come. The advances for War 2 in India are expected to open soon, and with Hindi and Telugu, the film will be looking to reduce the gap. When we talk of worldwide numbers, Coolie is leading War 2 by a margin of Rs. 47 crores, which was unthinkable as a week back as War 2 was considered to be a bigger film than Coolie, but the tides have now shifted.

At the moment, it's a one-man show, as Rajinikanth yet again proves why he is the greatest superstar of all time, as one man has taken down two young generation heroes.

The Mohit Suri directorial Saiyaara continues its remarkable run at the box office, especially in the Mumbai circuit - the territory that often sets the tone for a film’s nationwide performance. Closing Week 3 with a formidable Rs. 97.78 crore, the film is now just a breath away from the Rs. 100 crore milestone in the circuit, a feat expected to be achieved this coming weekend.

The achievement is significant, as Saiyaara becomes only the second film of 2025 to breach the Rs. 100 crore mark in Mumbai, after the year’s highest grosser in the circuit, Chhaava, which has collected a staggering Rs. 265.44 crores.

What’s more impressive is Saiyaara’s climb up the All-Time Mumbai Circuit Grossers list. The film has already moved to No. 17, surpassing the lifetime tally of Kabir Singh (Rs. 95.61 crores). Over the weekend, it is likely to leapfrog past two major blockbusters - Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs. 99.34 crores) and Sanju (Rs. 102.39 crores) - to secure an even stronger foothold in the rankings.

The film’s continued draw is fueled by excellent word-of-mouth, repeat viewership from metro audiences, and a soundtrack that has become a rage. The Mumbai circuit’s ticket prices combined with strong occupancy levels have further propelled its numbers, ensuring Saiyaara’s place among the elite performers in the region.

It was a massive second week for Mahavatar Narsimha as it ended up scoring a half century. It has never happened before that a film has scored in the 30s in its first week and then went on to get into the 50s in the second week. This is unprecedented and it would require a really special movie for it to happen again.

Frankly, this will only happen for films which don’t have much of a hype before release and then grow phenomenally solely on the power of word-of-mouth post arrival. Otherwise, any movie with hype and awareness will as it is get its best numbers in the first week itself. Yes, it may sustain well and even that would be phenomenal since typically films do drop 50%-70% in second week. Hence, even maintaining at the same levels would be remarkable. However, for it to grow further, it can happen only for the rarest of rarest films.

Now that this has happened for this Indian animation film that currently stands at Rs. 84.44 crores, all eyes are on its entry into the Rs. 100 Crore Club this weekend. Other than Saiyaara, there is Jurassic World: Rebirth, which has done that in the recent times and even F1 The Movie has an outside chance to somehow sneak its way into the century zone. However, Mahavatar Narsimha will stay on to be special due to its unpopular genre that doesn’t have many takers in India and this could well open up newer avenues.

It’s Mahavatar Narsimha all the way. After Blockbuster Tuesday of Rs. 6.30 crores*, the film did settle down on Wednesday as Rs. 4.50 crores* came in. The numbers are good again, though one must add that it’s a drop when compared to Monday collections of Rs. 5.30 crores.

Last week, each of the weekdays was really steady and there was also increase in numbers seen. Of course, such a feat cannot happen week after week, especially since the weekend gone by has anyways been terrific with Saturday and Sunday running riot in double digits. Hence, what’s coming in currently is also quite good and given the genre and the format, this is in fact superb.

It’s also continuing to be the highest collecting film at theatres as no other film, be it holdover or new, is coming even close to what it’s collecting. Even today, the film should cross Rs. 4 crores mark and that will be quite good. So far, the film has collected Rs. 82 crores* and before third weekend comes to a close it would have entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club.

It was Blockbuster Tuesday yesterday and with lower ticket prices, there were much higher footfalls for Mahavatar Narsimha. From Monday collections of Rs. 5.30 crores, numbers moved all the way up to Rs. 6.30 crores* on Tuesday. That’s just fabulous because the film is now collecting more than the combined total of all the other Hindi films in the running.

It’s one sided supremacy for the mythological animation film, which is running at a good count of screens but has ample potential to go even bigger. In fact, some of the shows have already been diverted towards it and from Friday onwards, it would have the highest count of premium as well as regular screens and also the most number of shows. There are a few films arriving this Friday but one can again expect that Mahavatar Narsimha collections would be more than all the films combined together.

It will also enter the Rs. 100 Crore Club this weekend as the collections so far for the Hindi version stand at Rs. 76.64 crores*. After the second week is through, the total would have reached Rs. 85 crores and post that by Sunday - if not Saturday itself -  the century mark would be hit. The film is assured of Rs. 135 crores lifetime and whatever comes post that would be an added bonus.

In a feat few anticipated but many are now celebrating, Saiyaara, the romantic action drama starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has stormed past the Rs. 500 crore mark at the global box office. The film, which released to high expectations and even higher buzz, has raked in a staggering Rs. 502.4 crore in worldwide gross collections — and it has done so in just 18 days.

Breaking down the numbers, Saiyaara has shown remarkable performance both in the domestic and international markets. In India, the film has netted Rs. 308 crore, translating to a gross collection of Rs. 373.11 crore. Meanwhile, the film’s overseas run has been equally formidable, bringing in Rs. 129.29 crore. These combined figures have pushed the total worldwide gross to a solid Rs. 502.4 crore, making Saiyaara one of the biggest global hits of 2025 so far.

What makes this achievement even more noteworthy is the pace at which Saiyaara has achieved it. Crossing the Rs. 500 crore mark in just 18 days places the film in an elite category of blockbusters that have demonstrated not only massive opening weekends but also enduring audience interest in the weeks that follow.

Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara has benefited immensely from strong word of mouth, repeat viewing, and the onscreen chemistry of its fresh lead pair. For debutant Ahaan Panday and rising star Aneet Padda, this milestone is more than just a commercial win — it signals their arrival as major players in the Bollywood mainstream. The film’s combination of youth-centric storytelling, high-octane action, and emotional depth has resonated with audiences across demographics and geographies.

With this new benchmark, Saiyaara now joins the rare club of films that have crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark globally — a list usually dominated by franchise films, seasoned superstars, and massive production houses. That Saiyaara has entered this league with relative newcomers at the helm is a testament to the changing dynamics of Indian cinema, where content, execution, and emotional connection increasingly trump star power alone.

As the film enters its third week with momentum still on its side, it will be interesting to see how much further it can go. One thing is clear: Saiyaara has already made its mark, and its success story is far from over

In what can only be described as a spectacular dream run, Saiyaara has crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark at the worldwide box office, solidifying its status as one of the year’s most successful films. Starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the romantic action drama has achieved this monumental feat within just 18 days of its theatrical release, making it the second film of 2025 to enter the coveted Rs. 500 crore club after Chhaava.

According to trade estimates, Saiyaara has grossed a massive Rs. 373.11 crore in India, while its performance in the overseas markets has been equally impressive, adding Rs. 129.29 crore to its total. This takes the film’s global gross to exactly Rs. 502.4 crore, a rare milestone for a film headlined by debutant leads.

The domestic reception of Saiyaara has been overwhelmingly positive, with the film benefitting from strong word of mouth, repeat viewings, and a robust theatrical presence even into its third week. Its India nett collection stands at Rs. 308 crore, indicating that audiences across all regions have embraced the film’s emotional narrative, dynamic performances, and striking visuals.

Overseas, Saiyaara has surprised many by outperforming bigger-budgeted competitors, with key markets such as the Middle East, North America, and Australia showing sustained traction. The international appeal of its leads—particularly Ahaan Panday, who marks his grand debut—and the universal theme of love and redemption have helped the film resonate with global audiences.

With this accomplishment, Saiyaara now stands alongside Chhaava—which leads the box office charts of 2025 with an astonishing Rs. 797.34 crore worldwide—as the only two films this year to surpass the Rs. 500 crore benchmark. While Chhaava had the advantage of star power and franchise familiarity, Saiyaara has done the unimaginable by riding on fresh faces and a new storyline.

The triumph of Saiyaara is a testament to the evolving tastes of the audience and the power of storytelling. It has not only positioned Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as serious contenders in the industry but has also proven that new talent, when backed by strong content and efficient marketing, can shatter box office ceilings.

As it continues its theatrical run, all eyes are now on how far Saiyaara will go—and whether it can narrow the gap with Chhaava to become the highest-grossing film of the year. Regardless of what lies ahead, Saiyaara has already carved a place for itself in 2025’s cinematic history.

Mahavatar Narsimha is following a trajectory of its own. While films see a gradual rise over the weekend (sometimes even meteoric), what this animation film did - and that too in its second week - was out of this world and unprecedented. Now, same is the case with the weekdays as well since the film is defying all trends, all theories, all expectations.

While Friday collections were Rs. 5.30 crores, Monday has come to Rs. 4.70 crores, which is quite good again. Considering the fact that Saturday had already got into double digits with Rs. 11.25 crores in its kitty and Sunday had seen a massive Rs. 16.27 crores being scored at the box office, the weekday trending has started on a huge note as well.

The mythological action drama is the highest collecting film amongst all others in the running and that too across languages and will keep going strong right till the arrival of War 2 now. It has already netted Rs. 70.34 crores and will comfortably go past the Rs. 90 crores mark by the time the second week comes to a close.

Till just 3 months back, one wondered if even big budget Bollywood movies would be able to hit a century. Such was a draught of well performing films at the box office that week after week one faced disappointments from the most expected quarters. However, the situation has changed now in last couple of months. Week after week there is a film arriving which is doing well and now even the most unexpected of films are seeing good footfalls in theatres.

This is being seen with Mahavatar Narsimha as well, the Hindi version of which is running riot as it ended up collecting Rs. 16.27 crores more on Sunday. While the collections have been on an upswing ever since its release, the overall total is now super impressive, what with Rs. 50 crores mark being crossed in just 10 days and the overall numbers standing at Rs. 65.64 crores. In fact, it could well have done it in 9 days itself but then fell short of this feat by just a few lakhs. For a film that opened at Rs. 1.46 crore on its first Friday (a number that was not really expected from this animation mythological film!), to see more than 40 times its collections in next 9 days goes on to show the kind of acceptance that it has gained.

There is a lot more that the film will now do in days to come as it will start stepping its foot in the interiors as well. Now it’s a given that a lifetime of Rs. 100 crores+ will come in, and it would be truly remarkable if it could actually manage to create a case for itself for a score past Rs. 125 crores mark as well.

Back in 2013 the Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 hit screens, and while the film itself went on to create box office records, Aamir had come up with a different theory to gauge a film’s true success. According to him, “To measure a film’s success, you need to see the weekend figures and compare it with the total collection. Like 3 Idiots did Rs. 40 crores on the weekend and the total business was Rs. 202 crores, so the weekend multiplied by 5 is the behaviour of the film — which is very good. That shows people have gone again and again to see the film. Jo film teen din mein 100 crore karein aur total mein 200 crore karein, then that film is not good.”

A decade later, this formula continues to offer one of the most objective and content-driven metrics of a film’s success — its Weekend to Lifetime Multiple. And the latest to storm into this elite list is Mahavatar Narsimha, which despite a relatively modest opening weekend of Rs. 12.11 crore, has clocked an impressive lifetime total of Rs. 65.64 crore, giving it a multiple of 5.42x.

With this performance, Mahavatar Narsimha has officially entered the Top 10 All-Time Successful Films as per Aamir Khan’s metric — settling at the 10th spot on the list. In doing so, it edges past several high-profile films and proves once again that compelling content, rather than just opening hype, determines a film’s staying power.

The top rank continues to be held by Kantara (2022) with a staggering multiple of 10.54x, followed closely by The Kashmir Files (2022) at 9.31x. Both films, like Mahavatar Narsimha, were dark horses that relied heavily on word-of-mouth and grassroots audience engagement to deliver box office longevity.

Other significant entries in the list include Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 (8.54x), 12th Fail (8.47x), Uri – The Surgical Strike (6.87x), and The Kerala Story (6.82x) — all of which demonstrated how strong narratives and emotional resonance can outlast opening weekend buzz.

Tiger 3, which released in 2023 with huge fanfare, finds itself at No. 7 with a multiple of 6.42x, while Queen (6.10x) and Hindi Medium (5.54x) occupy the eighth and ninth spots respectively. These films underscore the importance of strong word-of-mouth in building momentum beyond opening weekends — the very essence of Aamir’s argument.

That Mahavatar Narsimha finds a place in this illustrious list is especially noteworthy, considering it had little star power or marketing blitz. Instead, it banked on a spiritually charged narrative and cultural intrigue to draw in audiences, with interest peaking only after its theatrical release — a rare case of a genuine sleeper hit in today’s front-loaded industry.

As the box office continues to evolve in the age of OTT and tentpole spectacles, Mahavatar Narsimha serves as a compelling reminder: in the long run, it’s not the opening figures, but the repeat footfalls that define a film’s true legacy. And if Aamir Khan’s theory is anything to go by, Mahavatar Narsimha has certainly passed the test with distinction.

Top 10 Successful movies according to Aamir Khan’s formula: Kantara - 10.54 The Kashmir Files - 9.31 Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 - 8.54 12th Fail - 8.47 Uri - The Surgical Strike - 6.87 The Kerala Story - 6.82 Tiger 3 - 6.42 Queen - 6.10 Hindi Medium - 5.54 Mahavatar Narsimha - 5.42

The tag of ‘Khooni Monday’ became quite a rage after being used in a song in Go Goa Gone. What’s interesting, however, is that just like everyone else, even our Bollywood folks find Mondays dreadful. Wonder why?

The first weekend of every film these days is considered to be the high-priority period. Reason being that a film stands to do maximum business on the first three days of its release – namely Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mondays, however, are the true litmus test for even the biggest of the releases as the drop in the business determines the run of a film through the remaining days of the week.

In this analytical report, we compare the box office collections of first Friday with first Monday, to see how the movie held on the litmus test day — and Mahavatar Narsimha has emerged as one of the most surprising outliers in recent years.

Released alongside Sarzameen in theatres and Mandala Murders on Netflix, Mahavatar Narsimha opened with modest collections of Rs. 1.46 crore. Yet, against all odds, the film witnessed a phenomenal surge in numbers on its first Monday, collecting Rs. 3.89 crore — a massive 166.44% jump over its Day 1 figure.

Such a Monday boost is practically unheard of in today’s box office climate, where even the biggest tentpole films struggle to maintain weekend momentum. In fact, the last time a film registered this kind of weekday spike was during the historic run of The Kashmir Files, which saw an unprecedented 323.94% growth on its first Monday — from Rs. 3.55 crore on Friday to Rs. 15.05 crore.

With this, Mahavatar Narsimha has now secured its place as the film with the second-highest Monday growth rate ever in Hindi cinema. To put this into perspective, other notable films that posted high Monday gains include Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (95.45%), Housefull 4 (93.94%), Dolly Ki Doli (78.04%), HanuMan (70.71%), and Shivaay (69.43%).

Even relatively recent box office performers like Madgaon Express and Baby managed 66.87% and 60.22% increases, respectively, while Ek Tha Tiger, backed by major star power and an Independence Day release week, grew by 60%. Despite their scale and budgets, none came close to the 166% mark crossed by Mahavatar Narsimha.

What makes this feat even more impressive is the film’s initial reception. With a quiet release and minimal marketing buzz, Mahavatar Narsimha had little going for it apart from word-of-mouth and spiritual intrigue. Yet, this very organic chatter seems to have propelled audiences into theatres, turning the film into a sleeper hit in the making.

At a time when mainstream commercial cinema continues to experience volatile weekday drops — as evidenced by the sharp Monday crashes of big-budget films like Badass Ravi Kumar and Housefull 5 — the success of Mahavatar Narsimha offers a powerful reminder: content still has the last word at the box office.

Whether the film can sustain this momentum over the coming days remains to be seen, but one thing is clear — this Monday wasn’t “Khooni” for Mahavatar Narsimha. It was a breakthrough.

Both Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 saw some growth on Saturday. The Ajay Devgn-Mrunal Thakur-Ravi Kishan film has seen good response from the mass audiences and especially amongst families, and that’s what seeing enhances footfalls for itself. On the other hand, Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri starrer Dhadak 2 has been catering primarily to the elite at major centres.

Let’s talk about Son Of Sardaar 2 first. The film is trying to fight it out. Though there has been (forced) negativity around the film, just as was the case with Housefull 5 as well when it was released, it has been trying to find its space under the sun and not giving up. Reports for the film were decent to good by the time Friday came to a close and that is now reflecting in Saturday collections which have touched Rs. 8.25 crores. Of course a lot more is expected out of a biggie like this which is a sequel to the hit Son Of Sardaar. However, with Mahavatar Narsimha running riot and Saiyaara too being major competition, this Vijay Kumar Arora directed film will need to play it out on a daily basis. Currently it stands at Rs. 15.75 crores.

As for Dhadak 2, it is trying to make a place for itself amidst all the other films in the running. It’s a well-made film but with commercial entertainers like Saiyaara, Son Of Sardaar 2 and Mahavatar Narsimha around it, it has managed to stretch its way towards Rs. 4.05 crores mark. One now waits to see what’s the kind of growth that comes on today which can take its total ahead of Rs. 7.70 crores mark.

It was an excellent second week for Saiyaara as it ended up hitting a century. When films need to be really special to go past the Rs. 100 crores mark in their entire lifetime, here comes a newcomer romantic drama which has not just opened exceedingly well but also sustained pace for second week in succession to come so close to the Rs. 300 crores mark in just 14 days.

As a matter of fact, it could well have done that by the close of second week itself. However out of nowhere came Mahavatar Narsimha and that ended up collecting almost Rs. 30 crores in just the Hindi version. Now that definitely impacted the run of Saiyaara and it would be safe to assume that at least Rs. 12-15 crores could well have been lost there. This was seen from the fact that barring Tuesday (when there were reduced ticket rates and hence heavier footfalls), none of the weekdays could go past the Rs. 10 crores mark. Also, there were steady drops also seen (though in absolute terms the collections were still quite good).

The Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film currently stands at Rs. 285.25 crores and it will enter the Rs. 300 Crore Club tomorrow. While it seemed all but confirmed that it would enter the Rs. 400 Crore Club at ease, now that won’t be possible and the best case scenario for the Mohit Suri film would be to find itself in Rs. 360-375 crores range. That would still ensure that it keeps its All Time Blockbuster tag.

The records are tumbling, and how. Saiyaara continues to score big time with every passing day, as it’s now going past other big romantic musicals with established stars. There is a nationwide frenzy around the film which is playing at around 3500 odd screens, and still the collections are the kind that are usually associated with the biggies that play at around 4500 screens.

This was seen on Wednesday as well when collections were quite good at Rs. 8 crores. As a result, in just 13 days, Saiyaara is already the biggest ever for the romantic musical drama genre at Rs. 278.75 crores as Kabir Singh lifetime has been surpassed (Rs. 278.24 crores). Of course, this one was an A rated film but still, Saiyaara will collect at least Rs. 75 crores more and will end up comfortably going past the Rs. 350 crores milestone, which will make it unassailable.

Wait, there is more. With two more weeks ahead of it till YRF’s own War 2 arrives, it would be exciting to see how much more does Saiyaara earn. There is Mahavatar Narsimha doing quite well all over, in south there is Kingdom which has released today and then from Bollywood there are notable films like Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 as well arriving tomorrow, which means for audiences there is a lot of entertainment in store in time to come.

Two distinct films release today - Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. First is a sequel, second is a franchise offering. Ajay Devgn-Mrunal Thakur starrer is a family comedy. Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri film is a romantic social drama. Former is set up as an out and out mass entertainer. Latter is aiming for multiplexes at key urban audiences before breaking out in the interiors.

The two films are as different from each other as they could have been, and usually this wouldn’t have been seen as a clash per se as they are appealing to an altogether different audience segment. What’s happening though is that is more than competing with each other, there is a lot of competition which is there from holdover releases Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha. Former could still have been taken into the stride since it’s in the third week. However, it’s the latter which has arrived out of nowhere and is not just occupying a lot of screens and shows in the second week but also seeing an upwards trajectory after a fantastic first week. As a result, audiences have choices aplenty. In fact, the good thing for these new arrivals is that at least Vijay Deverakonda’s Samrajya has seen just a token Hindi release because if it had also seen a wide release then there would have been further competition.

Looking at all of this, Son of Sardaar 2 is aiming at an opening day of Rs. 5-6 crores. Though a double digit was otherwise a given for the film, the crowd around it means it would need to sneak its way in. On the other hand, Dhadak 2 will see Rs. 4-5 crores opening day. Again, it would have actually aimed for that Rs. 5-6 crores opening day but for now would depend entirely on word of mouth doing the trick.

In yet another box office milestone, Saiyaara, the romantic-action entertainer led by debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, continues to surprise trade pundits with its strong and steady run. The Mohit Suri directorial has now clocked Rs. 8 crore on its second Wednesday, earning the distinction of being the second highest second Wednesday grosser of 2025, just behind Chhaava.

While Chhaava, the historical epic, set an exceptionally high benchmark with a massive Rs. 25.02 crore on its second Wednesday, Saiyaara's performance is noteworthy, especially considering it doesn’t have the advantage of big star power or a national holiday boost. The film’s appeal lies in its youthful charm, melodious music, emotional core, and the growing popularity of its leads. With this Rs. 8 crore haul, Saiyaara has comfortably left behind other notable releases such as Raid 2 (Rs. 3.32 crore), Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs. 2.70 crore), Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs. 2.25 crore), and Housefull 5 (Rs. 2 crore).

The strong hold on weekdays, particularly the second Wednesday, suggests excellent word-of-mouth and audience retention, a rare feat for films fronted by newcomers. What also stands out is how Saiyaara has consistently defied pre-release predictions. While most trade projections were cautiously optimistic, the film has emerged as a bonafide hit with staying power.

In a year dominated by larger-than-life spectacles and franchise fare, Saiyaara’s steady climb on the box office ladder offers a refreshing counterpoint. Its performance also signals the arrival of a new on-screen pairing that has resonated with audiences across age groups.

With War 2 releasing on August 14, the real test for Saiyaara will be how well it can hold its own amidst fierce competition. But for now, the film stands tall — second only to Chhaava, and comfortably ahead of some big-banner offerings — proving that content, music, and emotion still matter in a star-driven landscape.

Top 5 Highest Second Wednesday Grossers of 2025 at a glance: Chhaava - Rs. 25.02 cr Saiyaara - Rs. 8 cr Raid 2 - Rs. 3.32 cr Sitaare Zameen Par - Rs. 2.70 cr Kesari Chapter 2 - Rs. 2.25 cr Housefull 5 - Rs. 2 cr

Mahavatar Narsimha is a HIT. The film is continuing to rise at the box office at a rapid pace and this was evident on “Blockbuster Tuesday” as well. With reduced ticket prices coming into action, the film ended up collecting Rs. 5 crores more at the box office. On Monday, the animation film had brought in Rs. 3.50 crores, so this is yet another very good jump in numbers.

What’s remarkable is that the film has very restricted count of shows on which it’s playing and still the numbers that are coming in are quite good, which reflects high occupancy. In fact, yesterday, majority of evening shows were going full at most of the centres and that pushed the collections way past the Rs. 4 crores mark. In fact, even today and tomorrow the film will end up collecting over Rs. 3 crores each which means from Rs. 20.05 crores total that it currently stands on, it will push itself to a week of Rs. 26 crores, which is phenomenal.

As for Saiyaara, it also saw a rise in numbers from Rs. 9.50 crores Monday, as it stepped into the double digit zone again by bringing in Rs. 10.50 crores. Of course, it could well have been collecting a lot better if not for Mahavatar Narsimha arriving out of nowhere, something which it is impacting it by at least Rs. 2 crores on a daily basis. Currently standing at Rs. 270.75 crores, it will now have to wait till Saturday to enter the Rs. 300 Crore Club. Also, the best case scenario now for the film is an entry into the Rs. 400 Crore Club.

Saiyaara is continuing its victory run well into the weekdays of the second week as well, as Monday too saw good collections. The trending so far had indicated that a score in the vicinity of Rs. 10 crores was always on the cards. After all, Saturday had got into late 20s and then Sunday had yet another hit 30.

However there has been a spanner in the plans for the film. What seemed like a cakewalk to keep running on and on for weeks at succession has seen a hurdle in the form of Mahavatar Narsimha. The animation film has been doing quite well ever since release and has been seeing an unbelievable trending already. Though it was playing at select screens and shows on Friday and Saturday, it has now seen a huge rise in collections since Sunday with the showcasing further increasing on Monday.

As a result, as good as Rs. 3.60 crores came on Monday and that has hit Saiyaara by a couple of crores at least. While the love story could have comfortably collected Rs. 12-13 crores on Monday going by the trending in the last 10 days, it managed to bring in Rs. 9.50 crores with the overall total teaching Rs. 260.25 crores. While it’s still the highest collecting film by a distance, Mahavatar Narsimha is fast catching up as well and its 4 day score reads Rs. 14.70 crores.

This is turning out to be the best time for Bollywood in the entire 2025 and with Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 next followed by War 2 (incidentally, all sequels/franchises), there is very good reason for exhibitors to rejoice.

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara continues its remarkable run at the global box office and has now added yet another feather to its cap. The romantic drama starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has emerged as the highest grossing Indian film of 2025 in Nepal, outperforming several big-ticket releases that previously dominated the territory.

After completing 10 days at the Nepalese box office, Saiyaara has collected NPR 6.62 crore, which translates to approximately INR 4.14 crore. With this, the film has overtaken the collections of other high-profile releases including Housefull 5, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Chhaava, setting a new benchmark for Indian films in the region this year.

In comparison, Housefull 5, which had a robust initial response in urban Nepal centres, managed a total of NPR 4.92 crore (INR 3.1 crore). Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar’s emotionally driven Sitaare Zameen Par followed with NPR 3.22 crore (INR 2 crore), while Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, trailed behind with NPR 2.20 crore (INR 1.4 crore). These figures highlight Saiyaara's clear lead in the territory and underline its widespread appeal.

What makes Saiyaara’s performance in Nepal particularly notable is the organic way in which the film has built its audience. Despite being headlined by debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has managed to resonate with the local audience through its universally relatable themes of love and heartbreak, bolstered by a memorable soundtrack and emotionally driven storytelling.

The film’s success in Nepal also reflects a changing cinematic landscape, where content-driven narratives with fresh faces are able to compete and even outperform established stars and franchises. The romantic genre, which had been on the backfoot in recent years, appears to be making a strong comeback – and Saiyaara is at the forefront of this revival.

Moreover, the performance indicates the increasing importance of overseas and niche regional markets such as Nepal in contributing to a film’s overall box office success. With Saiyaara dominating the 2025 charts in this territory, it is likely to drive renewed focus on content that can appeal across borders, especially in culturally and linguistically aligned regions.

As the film enters its third week, all eyes are now on whether it can sustain its momentum and set further records internationally. One thing is clear – Saiyaara has not just won hearts but also headlines.

Mohit Suri’s romantic saga Saiyaara, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has not only captivated audiences in India but is also scripting a phenomenal success story across international territories. Now in its second weekend, the film’s overseas box office performance has seen a stunning surge, with growth figures crossing 300% in certain key markets — a rare feat for any Hindi film, let alone one headlined by newcomers.

The numbers speak volumes. In Germany, Saiyaara experienced a jaw-dropping 314.45% growth, with weekend collections rising from EUR 8,681 in its opening weekend to EUR 35,978 in its second weekend. Australia wasn't far behind, registering a massive 279.59% spike as earnings jumped from A$ 143,498 to A$ 544,717.

Similar trends were observed across the board, in Singapore, collections rose from SGD 15,751 to SGD 55,716, reflecting a 253.73% increase. New Zealand saw a leap from NZD 34,784 to NZD 109,602, marking 215.09% growth. In Malaysia, the film earned MR 57,486 in its second weekend, compared to MR 23,246 in its debut weekend, reflecting a 147.29% boost. The UK, a traditionally strong market for Bollywood, showed a solid 161.03% surge, with collections moving from GBP 194,072 to GBP 506,596. In the USA a conventionally strong market for most Bollywood releases, Saiyaara saw an increase from USD 760,219 on its opening weekend to USD 1,290,032 on its second weekend running, translating to 69.69% increase in collections.

This remarkable overseas performance has catapulted Saiyaara into the second spot among the highest overseas grossers of 2025, with total international earnings now touching USD 8 million. The only film ahead of it currently is the Vicky Kaushal-led historical epic Chhaava, which stands at USD 10.25 million. However, given the momentum Saiyaara has built over the past weekend, it's now well on track to surpass Chhaava and take the crown.

What makes Saiyaara’s overseas trajectory even more significant is the fact that it hinges entirely on the strength of its content, music, and performances — without the crutch of established stars. The film has found a deep emotional connect with diaspora audiences, particularly in romance-friendly markets like the UK, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The soaring numbers are a testament to the global appetite for heartfelt storytelling and soul-stirring music, both of which Saiyaara delivers in spades.

As the film enters its third weekend, trade experts expect the wave of support overseas to continue, with bookings showing minimal drops and screens being added in several countries due to demand. In an era where romantic dramas are few and far between, Saiyaara has emerged as a genre-resurrecting blockbuster, and its overseas success is further proof that love stories — when told right — travel far and wide.

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara continues to assert its dominance not just in India, but across international markets as well. After concluding a stellar second weekend, the romantic drama starring debutant Ahaan Panday and Big Girls Don’t Cry breakout Aneet Padda has crossed another major milestone — Saiyaara has officially outperformed Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar’s high-profile film Sitaare Zameen Par in overseas collections, taking its total to USD 8 million, with momentum still on its side.

The growth of Saiyaara in international territories is not just steady — it's exponential. From the Middle East to North America, the UK to Australia, the film has resonated with South Asian audiences craving a heartfelt, music-driven romance. Its universal themes of ambition, longing, and modern love, coupled with Mohit Suri’s signature emotional intensity and a soundtrack that has dominated streaming charts, have made it a global crowd-puller.

In surpassing Sitaare Zameen Par — a film led by two of Bollywood’s biggest stars — Saiyaara has proven that star power alone doesn’t define success in overseas markets. What works, evidently, is storytelling that strikes a chord, characters that feel real, and music that elevates every emotion. The romantic pull of Saiyaara has cut across geographical and generational lines, making it one of the rare debut-led films to become an overseas sensation.

The film has also leapfrogged past other big-budget titles such as Sikandar (USD 6.316 million), Housefull 5 (USD 5.45 million), Kesari Chapter 2 (USD 3.90 million), and Raid 2 (USD 3.40 million). These are projects that came with franchise weight or established lead actors, yet Saiyaara, riding primarily on its content and word-of-mouth buzz, has outshone them all in international territories.

What makes this even more significant is that Saiyaara has achieved these numbers in just two weeks, with several key overseas markets still reporting strong advance bookings and repeat viewership. With this kind of sustained performance, the next milestone seems inevitable — Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which stands at USD 10.25 million, is now well within striking distance.

If Saiyaara continues on this trajectory, it will not only become one of the highest overseas grossers of the year but also rewrite the narrative around debutant-led films succeeding globally. It has already made history by making Ahaan Panday the first debutant to enter the Rs. 200 crore club in India, and now it seems poised to make a similar mark abroad.

With Saiyaara, Yash Raj Films and Mohit Suri have not just revived the romance genre — they’ve proven that emotionally rooted, musically rich stories still have universal appeal. And as it edges closer to overtaking Chhaava, Saiyaara may soon hold another box office crown to its name: the biggest overseas romantic blockbuster of the year.

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara is rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about box office stories of the year. After a thunderous opening and a week of consistent, audience-fuelled growth, the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer has now achieved yet another major milestone — it has surpassed the collections of Sitaare Zameen Par and Housefull 5 to become the second highest second weekend grosser of 2025, collecting a staggering Rs. 75.50 crore over its second weekend.

From its very first day, Saiyaara signalled a shift in audience preferences. It proved that in a market saturated with action spectacles and franchise comedies, a well-crafted romantic film with fresh faces and a compelling emotional narrative could not only find an audience — it could dominate. The film opened to enthusiastic reviews, a flurry of positive word-of-mouth, and packed houses over its first weekend. The chemistry between debutant Ahaan Panday and breakout star Aneet Padda, combined with Mohit Suri’s signature storytelling style and a chart-busting soundtrack, struck a powerful chord with viewers across demographics.

But what truly cements Saiyaara’s growing legacy is its remarkable hold during the weekdays and its explosive second weekend numbers. While most films witness a steep dip in their second weekend, Saiyaara bucked the trend with strong advance bookings, particularly in urban centres, and growing traction in mass belts. The second weekend collection of Rs. 80 crore is more than double the combined second weekend figures of Raid 2 and Housefull 5 — a clear indicator of Saiyaara’s widespread appeal and sustained momentum.

When placed alongside the top second weekend grossers of the year so far, Saiyaara is second only to Chhaava, which collected a massive Rs. 109.23 crore. To outperform a high-profile film like Sitaare Zameen Par, which starred superstars Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, and a big-budget franchise entry like Housefull 5 is no small feat. Especially for a film led by newcomers and built around a genre many had prematurely written off. This only underscores Saiyaara’s breakout status and the incredible resonance it has found with audiences across India.

The box office performance also signals a broader trend: audiences are hungry for emotionally rich, musically driven love stories once again, especially ones that bring freshness both in casting and treatment. Mohit Suri, known for hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, has reasserted his place as one of Bollywood’s most successful romantic storytellers, while Yash Raj Films’ gamble on new talent has paid off in a big way.

As Saiyaara continues to soar past milestones, the film is not only reshaping the 2025 box office narrative but also setting a new benchmark for debutants and non-franchise offerings. With its current momentum, industry watchers are now speculating just how high Saiyaara will climb in the weeks to come.

It’s Saiyaara wave all the way and there is no stopping that. After bringing in a huge Rs. 18.50 crores on Friday, the film further jumped on Saturday as a mammoth Rs. 27 crores came in. Yes, you read it right. The film jumped by almost 50% on Saturday and that too while playing on huge numbers already. While smaller films with smaller numbers in that Rs. 3-5 crores range are still known for jumping huge on Saturday, here we have a film which is collecting in the whereabouts of Rs. 20 crores for 8 days already and still goes on to see this kind of jump.

What makes these numbers further special is the fact that they are bigger than even first Saturday, which is unprecedented. Last Saturday, the Mohit Suri directed romantic musical drama had collected Rs. 26.25 crores while this Saturday as good as Rs. 27 crores have come in, which has never happened before. This also means that while Rs. 30 crores would be a cakewalk today, there is a good probability of the film hitting the Rs. 35 crores mark, which would be on the same lines as first Sunday of Rs. 36.25 crores.

All of this is also possible because most of the screens and shows are currently playing this Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film. Last week there was showcasing at 2225 screens whereas this week the number has gone up to 3800. That’s the kind of screens that big budget superstar films get in their first week and for Saiyaara to earn this in its second week goes on to say a lot about the kind of credibility that it has built en route its Rs. 200 Crore Club journey, what with the total standing at Rs. 220.75 crores.

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara continues to script history at the box office. Headlined by debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the romantic drama has now crossed the coveted Rs. 200 crore mark at the domestic box office, becoming only the second film of 2025 to achieve this feat — and it has done so in just 9 days.

The film, which opened to a strong Rs. 22 crore on its first day, has shown no signs of slowing down since its release. Thanks to a powerful emotional narrative, chart-topping music, and breakout performances by its leads, Saiyaara has been pulling audiences into theatres across India — from metros to small towns — even in the face of stiff competition. After a phenomenal first week, the film's momentum has carried over seamlessly into its second weekend, allowing it to reach Rs. 220.75 crore nett in just over a week.

This performance makes Saiyaara the second-fastest film of the year to enter the Rs. 200 crore club after Chhaava, which crossed Rs. 203.68 crore in 7 days. While Chhaava was always expected to perform well given its star power and historical theme, Saiyaara’s success is particularly noteworthy, considering it was led by fresh faces and relied heavily on storytelling, music, and word-of-mouth rather than large-scale promotions or action-driven spectacle.

What’s particularly impressive is the consistency of Saiyaara’s daily collections. Even on weekdays — traditionally a slowdown period for most releases — the film continued to register Rs. 20 crore-plus figures, with audiences showing up in droves. The youth-centric romance has clearly struck a chord, especially with Gen Z viewers who see themselves reflected in the film’s modern, emotionally nuanced take on love and ambition.

The combination of Mohit Suri’s direction, a soul-stirring soundtrack, and the fresh screen presence of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has created a perfect storm — one that industry insiders say could push the film even further up the charts in the coming weeks.

With Saiyaara showing remarkable staying power and no major competition on the immediate horizon, the film is expected to continue its golden run at the box office. It now joins a very elite group of films that have not only opened big but sustained their performance into the second week — a feat usually reserved for star-studded blockbusters.

In just 9 days, Saiyaara has not only shattered expectations but also reaffirmed that good content, compelling music, and heartfelt performances can lead a film to massive success — even without established stars. And as it marches confidently past the Rs. 200 crore milestone, one thing is certain: Saiyaara has officially become one of 2025’s defining cinematic stories.

Brace up for more records to be broken by Saiyaara in days to come. The manner in which the second week has kickstarted, rest assured more than Rs. 100 crores will quite comfortably come in. That’s because on Friday, the film brought in Rs. 18.50 crores, which is truly terrific because the day before it had netted Rs. 19.50 crores, which means there is hardly any drop.

As a matter of fact, it has hardly dipped when compared to the first Friday either which already had blockbuster collections of Rs. 22 crores. To have such a minor dip is a testimony to the fact that audiences have lapped up the film in an unimaginable way. What has to be seen is how do collections turn out to be today and tomorrow, since last Saturday (Rs. 26.25 crores) and Sunday (Rs. 36.25 crores) were as it is humongous. While today the collections should zoom into Rs. 27-28 crores range, it would be interesting to see if tomorrow the numbers go a crore or two ahead of last Sunday.

The Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film is already a blockbuster of epic proportions as Rs. 193.75 crores have already come in. In fact, as you read this, the film has already entered the Rs. 200 Crore Club and by the close of the second weekend, Rs. 250 crores mark would be very comfortably crossed. Next up is the Rs. 300 Crore Club milestone and one can already imagine Mohit Suri and Aditya Chopra getting ready to pop the champagne.

The Aamir Khan-starrer Sitaare Zameen Par has completed a month since its release in cinemas and continues to do well. In four weeks, it collected Rs. 160.62 crores, and although the film was affected in Week 5 due to the Saiyaara wave, it continues to draw in the audience, especially on weekends in urban areas. At this rate, it might end up collecting around Rs. 166-167 crores in its lifetime.

Interestingly, Sitaare Zameen Par is now Aamir Khan’s first hit since Fanaa (2006), which hasn't been released on Christmas. Aamir has been selective in the last 2 decades while making films, with Christmas becoming synonymous with Aamir Khan’s releases. In fact, since 2007, Aamir Khan has had 10 releases, of which 6 of these films have been released on or around December 25.

After the super-hit Fanaa, which was released on May 26, 2006, Aamir was seen directly on Christmas 2007 in Taare Zameen Par. Despite its unconventional subject, it ended up collecting Rs. 61.83 crores, emerging as a surprise hit. Exactly a year later, he was seen in Ghajini (2008), the first Rs. 100 crore film of Bollywood. In the following Christmas, Aamir inaugurated the Rs. 200 Crore Club with 3 Idiots (2009).

He returned as a leading actor nearly three years later with Talaash. It was released on November 30, 2012 and due to the not-so-commercial approach, it was a Semi Hit. Aamir Khan's next three films were all Christmas releases, namely Dhoom (2013), PK (2014) and Dangal (2016). All three were blockbusters, with the last two being record grossers of their times.

Aamir Khan's next after Dangal as a leading man was the 2018 Diwali release, Thugs Of Hindostan. Despite having the biggest opening then (Rs. 52.25 crores), it fell rapidly due to poor reports and was a flop. Almost four years later, the superstar returned with Laal Singh Chaddha, which arrived in cinemas on August 11, 2022, to take advantage of the Independence Day weekend. Sadly, the promos and songs didn't excite the viewers much and even the word of mouth wasn't encouraging. This affected its opening and also its lifetime.

This way, Sitaare Zameen Par, which was Aamir’s next after Laal Singh Chaddha, has emerged as his first non-Christmas success in 19 years. With this film, too, Aamir faced several challenges. The opening was not up to the mark. However, the way the film jumped by nearly 100% on day 2 stunned the trade. A very positive word of mouth and brand Aamir’s credibility helped the film big time and no wonder that it continues to play in several cinemas across the country, even in its sixth week.

There are cheers and smiles all around when such kind of audience as well as industry loves comes in from all directions and that’s what has happened indeed for this Mohit Suri directed romantic musical.

The film continued to bring in excellent collections on a day on day basis, and to see that even Thursday saw as huge as Rs. 19.50 crores is a testimony to the fact that the momentum is on the film’s side. In fact, when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 22 crores, there is practically no drop in footfalls as weekday pricing is different. Today again the film will do really well and with no competition whatsoever, rest assured Rs. 20 crores mark will be crossed all over again.

After one week, the film now stands at Rs. 175.25 crores and by tomorrow afternoon itself the Rs. 200 Crore Club mark will be hit. There are so many more milestones all set to be hit as Rs. 300 crores isn’t too far away either. The pace at which the film is currently going, an entry into the Rs. 300 Crore Club too will happen by the close of their weekend. From that point on, it would be interesting to see if there is ample steam left in this Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda film to aim for that Rs. 400 crores milestone.

Mohit Suri's latest directorial venture Saiyaara has scripted history, not just at the box office this year but also in the filmmaker's own career. The romantic drama starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has emerged as Suri’s highest-grossing film to date, collecting a phenomenal Rs. 155.75 crore nett in India. In doing so, Saiyaara has shattered the previous records held by his earlier blockbusters, setting a new benchmark for the filmmaker known for his emotionally rich and musically driven cinema.

Prior to Saiyaara, Mohit Suri's highest grosser was the 2014 action-romance Ek Villain, which had amassed Rs. 105.62 crore during its theatrical run. With Saiyaara now clocking Rs. 50.13 crore more, it has surpassed Ek Villain by a whopping 47.5%, a staggering growth considering Saiyaara was headlined by two newcomers and released without the advantage of a franchise or major star power.

Suri’s earlier romantic hit Aashiqui 2, which became a musical phenomenon in 2013 and introduced a new wave of love stories in Bollywood, had collected Rs. 78.42 crore. Saiyaara has now more than doubled that figure, registering an impressive 98.5% increase, solidifying its status as a generational hit that resonates deeply with today’s youth audience.

Even more significantly, Saiyaara has performed considerably better than Suri's other commercially successful titles in the last decade. His 2017 film Half Girlfriend collected Rs. 60.30 crore, while Malang (2020), a stylish action-thriller, ended its run at Rs. 58.99 crore. Both films featured established stars and wide marketing campaigns, yet Saiyaara has managed to eclipse them by 158.3% and 164% respectively.

Going further back, Suri’s early hit Murder 2 (2011) had minted Rs. 47.90 crore at the domestic box office. Compared to that, Saiyaara has registered a jaw-dropping 225% jump, showcasing how far the filmmaker has come both in scale and box office prowess.

What makes this feat particularly remarkable is that Saiyaara achieved these numbers in a competitive market landscape, without the support of extended holidays or an existing IP. Its massive success is driven by a deeply resonant storyline, a chartbuster soundtrack, and Mohit Suri’s signature directorial finesse—proving yet again that romance, when done right, can still capture the heart of a nation.

For Suri, Saiyaara not only reaffirms his reputation as Bollywood’s go-to storyteller for emotionally intense love stories but also marks a career milestone that places him firmly among the industry’s top-performing directors. With more eyes now on what he does next, the bar has undoubtedly been raised.

Mohit Suri’s latest cinematic triumph, Saiyaara, continues its breathtaking run at the box office, officially crossing the coveted Rs. 200 crore mark in global earnings. As of now, the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer has amassed a staggering Rs. 225.73 crore worldwide—an extraordinary feat for a film led by two debutants.

According to official figures, Saiyaara has collected Rs. 155.75 crore nett in India, which translates to a gross of Rs. 188.67 crore domestically. Overseas, the film has performed exceptionally well too, adding another Rs. 37.06 crore to its tally. This brings the total worldwide gross to Rs. 225.73 crore, solidifying Saiyaara's position as one of the biggest success stories of 2025.

What makes this achievement especially remarkable is the film’s origin: a romance helmed by newcomers, released without the cushion of a festival holiday or the backing of a franchise. Director Mohit Suri, best known for hits like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, has once again tapped into the zeitgeist with a soulful love story that is finding resonance not just in India, but globally.

The film's meteoric rise has been fuelled by several factors. The fresh pairing of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has been widely appreciated for its chemistry and emotional authenticity. The music, too, has played a crucial role—dominating streaming charts and becoming an anthem for this generation. The Saiyaara title track alone has broken multiple records, including becoming the most-streamed Bollywood song in a single day on Spotify India.

Critics and trade analysts alike have pointed out how Saiyaara has redefined what success can look like in the post-pandemic entertainment landscape. By betting on new faces and a genre (romantic drama) that many had prematurely written off, Yash Raj Films and Mohit Suri have not only delivered a blockbuster but also reignited faith in heartfelt storytelling.

As the film enters its third week with strong weekday holds and no major competitors in sight, Saiyaara is poised to stretch its legs even further. With momentum on its side and continued support from audiences across age groups, it wouldn't be surprising if the film inches closer to the Rs. 250 crore club in the coming days.

In an industry increasingly dominated by CGI-laden spectacles and big-banner franchises, Saiyaara’s success is a testament to the timeless power of love, music, and genuine cinematic emotion.

The Mohit Suri-directed Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is showing no signs of slowing down. After a thunderous opening weekend and record-breaking weekday performance, the film has now added another feather to its cap by registering the second-highest first Wednesday box office collection of 2025. With a remarkable Rs. 22 crore nett haul on its sixth day, Saiyaara has officially surpassed the Wednesday numbers of major star-studded releases like Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs. 7.51 crore), Housefull 5 (Rs. 7 crore), and Raid 2 (Rs. 4.81 crore).

The only film ahead of Saiyaara on this list remains Chhaava, which had clocked Rs. 32.40 crore on its first Wednesday. However, considering the fact that Saiyaara is led by two fresh faces—Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda—and not backed by a major franchise or holiday weekend, its Wednesday numbers are a significant milestone not only for the film but for the industry at large.

This consistent performance, particularly on weekdays, highlights the film’s extraordinary word-of-mouth traction. The narrative of Saiyaara—a modern-day romance grounded in realism and powered by a universally resonant soundtrack—has struck a chord with audiences across demographics. The story, its music, and the sincerity of performances have driven footfalls steadily, even as bigger-budget and more commercially formulaic films have struggled to maintain momentum beyond the weekend.

What makes Saiyaara’s feat especially commendable is its uphill climb in a crowded release calendar, with competition both at the box office and on streaming platforms. Yet, the film continues to dominate conversations, social media trends, and most importantly, ticket counters.

Trade experts attribute Saiyaara’s success to multiple factors: Mohit Suri’s signature touch in handling intense emotional drama, a chart-topping music album that has become a national sensation, and the unexpected freshness of its lead cast. The fact that it has edged past projects backed by established stars and franchises on a working weekday reinforces the idea that content-driven cinema—when done right—can hold its own even without conventional star power.

With Thursday and the second weekend ahead, all eyes are on whether Saiyaara can continue its dream run and cement its place as one of 2025’s most successful and culturally significant films.

Every day, Saiyaara is creating history. If Monday was huge (Rs. 24.25 crores) with collections being bigger than Friday (Rs. 22 crores), then Tuesday has been further extraordinary. The collections have turned out to be quite close to Saturday (Rs. 26.25 crores), what with Rs. 25 crores coming in.

To think of it, the film is playing at half the count of screens when it comes to big star studded holiday releases that usually play at 4000-4500 screens at an average. Still, the collections during weekdays are historic, which is a testimony to how the film has been lapped by the audiences across the country and that too in such a huge way. A, B or C centres, elite or gentry, single screens or multiplexes, it’s Saiyaara wave all the way.

As a matter of fact, on Tuesday the ticket rates were discounted due to Blockbuster Tuesday offer, and still the collections are so much higher which means in terms of footfalls, it was an altogether different game. Moreover, the momentum is continuing well into the weekdays as well and by the look of things, Wednesday collections too may turn out to be Rs. 20 crores+, which is unprecedented. With Rs. 133.75 crores in its kitty already, this Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda and YRF musical romantic drama is a blockbuster of epic proportions and Rs. 200 Crore Club entry will happen on Saturday itself.

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara continues its unprecedented run at the box office. After shattering records for a newcomer-led film, the Ahaan Panday–Aneet Padda starrer has now broken into the coveted list of Biggest Single-Day Grossers of 2025, securing the fifth spot with its Day 3 earnings of Rs. 36.25 crore.

What makes this milestone truly remarkable is the context in which it has been achieved. With no franchise tag, no festival release window, and no major stars headlining the film, Saiyaara has managed to achieve numbers that are typically reserved for tentpole blockbusters with established fan bases and massive marketing pushes.

With Saiyaara making it into this top five, it becomes the only non-Chhaava entry to feature on this elite list so far in 2025. The third-day surge was driven by extraordinary audience turnout across metros and mass belts alike, powered by strong word-of-mouth and a swelling fanbase for the film’s lead pair.

For Mohit Suri, the success of Saiyaara marks a career-defining moment. Known for helming emotionally intense love stories like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, Suri has delivered yet another cultural phenomenon—this time with a fresh-faced cast and a story that has clearly resonated across demographics.

The film’s powerful soundtrack, combined with Suri’s signature style and emotionally driven storytelling, has amplified its appeal, making it one of the most talked-about films of the year. Industry insiders are now closely watching its weekday performance, which so far shows no signs of slowing down.

Having crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark globally within just a few days and now joining the ranks of the biggest single-day performers of the year, Saiyaara continues to prove that substance, emotion, and strong storytelling can triumph over star power and spectacle. And with more milestones in sight, the film is poised to become one of the defining box office stories of 2025.

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has pulled off yet another box office triumph, surpassing all expectations and industry benchmarks. After an explosive opening weekend that stunned trade pundits and shattered records, the film has now achieved a new milestone—Saiyaara has recorded the highest first Monday collection of 2025, surpassing even the year’s previous top-grosser Chhaava.

On its first Monday, Saiyaara raked in an impressive Rs. 24.25 crore, just edging past Chhaava’s Monday haul of Rs. 24.10 crore. The difference may be marginal, but the significance is monumental. While Chhaava, headlined by Vicky Kaushal, came with the backing of a major star and extensive pre-release buzz, Saiyaara stars complete newcomers—Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda—making the feat all the more extraordinary.

What makes this accomplishment truly stand out is the trajectory Saiyaara is following. Films generally see a sharp dip in collections on the first Monday after release, especially when there’s no national holiday or festive season to cushion the fall. But Saiyaara has bucked this trend completely. Instead of slowing down, it maintained a robust hold at the box office and, remarkably, collected even more on Monday than it did on its opening Friday, a rare occurrence in recent years.

To put Saiyaara’s Monday numbers into perspective, other major releases of 2025 saw significantly lower figures: Housefull 5 collected Rs. 10 crore, Sitaare Zameen Par brought in Rs. 8.50 crore, Sky Force stood at Rs. 8.10 crore, and Raid 2 trailed with Rs. 7.74 crore. These were star-led vehicles with substantial promotions and marketing campaigns behind them, yet Saiyaara, devoid of big names or franchise branding, has outshone them all.

Mohit Suri’s direction, emotionally resonant storytelling, and strong music have clearly struck a chord with audiences. The film’s gripping narrative and relatable characters have ensured that the word-of-mouth buzz remains extremely positive, translating into strong footfalls not just over the weekend but also as the workweek begins.

With Saiyaara leading the 2025 box office on every key metric—highest opening for newcomers, highest weekend total, and now the highest first Monday collection—it is fast becoming a once-in-a-generation success story. If the trend continues, the film is likely to cross more milestones in the coming days, cementing its place as one of the year’s most remarkable box office sagas.

Top 5 Highest First Monday Grossers of 2025 at a glance: Saiyaara - Rs. 24.25 cr Chhaava - Rs. 24.10 cr Housefull 5 - Rs. 10 cr Sitaare Zameen Par - Rs. 8.50 cr Sky Force - Rs. 8.10 cr Raid 2 - Rs. 7.74 cr

In what can only be described as a box office phenomenon, Saiyaara continues to rewrite the record books with every passing day. After delivering a sensational opening weekend, the Mohit Suri directorial has pulled off another historic feat—its Monday collections have outpaced its Friday earnings, a rarity in the world of cinema, especially for a film led by newcomers.

Saiyaara collected a staggering Rs. 24.25 crore on Monday—higher than its opening day collection of Rs. 22 crore—proving that the romantic drama is not just a weekend wonder but a long-distance runner at the box office. With this, the film's total collections stand at an astonishing Rs. 108.75 crore in just four days.

What makes this feat even more monumental is that Saiyaara has now logged the highest Monday collection for a film featuring newcomers—a category long dominated by big-banner debuts and star-driven films. But Saiyaara hasn't stopped there.

Incredibly, the film’s Monday collection has also eclipsed the Monday earnings of major star vehicles released this year—Housefull 5 starring Akshay Kumar, Raid 2 with Ajay Devgn, and Sitaare Zameen Par headlined by Aamir Khan. Even Chhaava, the current highest-grossing film of 2025 featuring Vicky Kaushal, failed to match Saiyaara’s Monday number—further underlining the magnitude of this achievement.

Directed by Mohit Suri and starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Saiyaara is defying every box office norm. It has no festival release cushion, no franchise baggage, and no A-list celebrity face leading the charge. And yet, it's packing theatres across India, riding high on word-of-mouth, repeat viewings, and its emotionally resonant narrative.

Contributing to this sustained momentum is the strategic launch of the #BlockbusterTuesdays initiative, which offers discounted ticket pricing midweek. With advance sales for Tuesday already pointing toward another strong turnout, industry insiders are predicting another historic day at the box office.

With Saiyaara standing tall at Rs. 108.75 crore in just four days, the film is now well on its way to joining the elite Rs. 150 crore club before the end of its first week. It’s not just a hit; it’s a movement—challenging conventional wisdom, reviving faith in original storytelling, and proving that heart, craft, and conviction can still triumph over star power.

One thing is clear: Saiyaara is no longer just a successful debut—it’s a cultural and commercial juggernaut rewriting the rules of the game.
